They're not going back. They're going into a hole in the desert or into the foundation of the lab.

they have no problem sending all those young reckless workers back and trust they won't say anything but because werner is dumb and wanted to spend a few days with his wife he's now such a threat they have to kill him and deal with the german lawyers and the investigation etc?

it makes zero sense and is just lazy sloppy writing.

also, mike says they're gonna make it look like an accident so what we're just supposed to believe the ppl investigating the "accident" are going to be so ****ing inept they miss a fatal bullet wound?

or are they going to somehow orchestrate an entire investigation that will satisfy the german lawyers and authorities and deal with all those loose ends all rather than believe this guy who hasn't give a single indication that he would want to turn mike in and get him n gus in trouble is going to suddenly have a change of heart because he snuck off for a few days to **** his wife?

it's ****ing idiotic.
if anything the total devotion and loyalty he has to his wife should demonstrate that he's the type of guy who is fiercely loyal to the people he cares about one of which is clearly mike.

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

one of the defining characteristics of gus they tried to hammer home was he didn't just act irrationally out of anger, he was logical and restrained and once he trusted someone he was willing to hear them out and not rush to judgement.

This was a guy who just a couple episodes ago was drunkenly blabbing about the job to some total strangers in a bar. Now he knows exactly where the site is, having completely circumvented the meticulously planned precautions that Gus took to make sure none of them did. He's also proven through this that he's anything but fiercely loyal to Mike, completely defying his direct orders even after being on thin ice for the bar incident, and that, best case, he has terrible judgement and will act irrationally when it serves his personal interest.

Also remember Gus doesn't know all the sappy details about his love for his wife and hs general personality like we do, he's just getting second-hand reports from Mike about a guy who has on multiple occasions put the project at risk. Plus, Lalo now knows him by name and is not going to just let him go back quietly to his life in Germany. The existence of a wife who he's already prioritized over loyalty to Mike & Gus makes it all but certain he'll spill the beans if there's any threat of violence against her. If anything, it's entirely consistent with Gus's meticulous nature to nip this in the bud before he loses control of the situation.

Why do posters keep suggesting that the German Lawyers that Mike mentioned will be legit random litigators?

If lawyers visit the families that are missing members, they’ll almost certainly be retained by Madrigal.

The fatal bullet wound will be a non-issue because that body ain’t never showing up.

You can’t ask questions during an autopsy if there’s no autopsy.

I take your point, but I was OK with it, largely because the other workers don't know the location of their anonymous compound, whereas Werner escaped out of it and knows exactly where it is.
So Werner with that knowledge, coupled with Lalo now on his tail, spelt trouble for Fring. He had to go.

Also, nobody mentioned how cool and funny it was the way Mike ditched the tail.

Kim's face when he revealed himself as Saul before her very eyes was something. I suppose there was some part of her that still thought that there was some good in Jimmy. That he'd become a lawyer and help the elderly like he used to. This whole time, she got played by him. Several times, I kept wondering why she stayed by his side. I wonder how she'll rationalize staying with him now.

Jimmy knew once that the girl got rejected by HHM for a scholarship that he had no shot to get his license back without scamming his way through. He had to tell her how it was going to be even if it did look a little creepy. He probably he wishes he knew that when he was her age.

I'm also curious about getting a legal license back. I mean they don't give it back to you and off you go, right? Isn't there a period of time where you're on some kind of probation to make sure that you aren't up to your old tricks? If so, wouldn't that delay him from doing what he does best?

Kind of weird how Werner thought that he'd come back, apologize and that everything would be cool. He knew that he would be away from Germany for a long time and still took the job. Sure there were delays that extended the work but he had to know that was a possibility. I also don't know how the entire team could go back to Germany and not say something about their boss dying. I figured if one of them had to go out like that they'd have to kill them all. Too many loose ends. Probably would have been a cleaner, easier story if he killed himself due to the depression rather than pull a runner. I really don't see how somebody could effectively write their way out of this. I guess they can say that Mike was lying but why would he lie to a guy he was going to kill anyway?

Mike also had a bit of a transformative moment. Earlier in the show, he was always looking for a less lethal way to handle problems even if it was at the expense of his own wellbeing. Initially, he tries to do that with Werner but once he realized that he spoke to Lalo about the project and that either he killed Werner or got disciplined by Gus for ****ing up, he chose the former. The Mike that wanted to stay clean evolved from clean parking lot worker to dirty criminal. He also hasn't seen his granddaughter or daughter-in-law in quite a while.

There are enough questions open to get me excited for the next season. I guess that won't be for a long time though.

I think they need a business that uses extremely high energy consumption so that the lab goes basically unnoticed. That's why they use the lab under the washing machines versus just using a lab in that hanger. If there is no reason for high energy consumption from the hanger then someone could be suspicious.

Ya, that was awesome. Really enjoyed the whole episode although I agree with some of riverboatking's thoughts that in a real life environment things might be handled in a different manner. In the show though they wanted to have a reasonable character killed off in dramatic fashion. It also showed as someone else pointed out that Mike was willing to get dirty. Gus also seemed upset in the fact that Mike obviously tipped off the German to tell his wife to return to Germany. We know they come to terms in the future but it did leave Mike with some sort of respect in not willing to just kill someone or have someone killed of total innocence in the matter.

Well at that point Werner getting killed no matter what, so Mike probably thought it would be both fair to Werner to make it clean and take responsibility for his own F-up.

Very very very disappointing finale and a very disappointing season overall. The Jimmy story line was by far the weakest. The story-line with the Germans was interesting but they needed a different ending. Werner suddenly became the dumbest man alive. Gus decides to start killing German civilians because the plot says he does. How long would it take for the cops solve this case once Mrs Werner notifies the police? Maybe he kills everyone? How big of a story is it on the news if 12 Germans all of a sudden go missing in New Mexico? Lalo climbing through the ceiling is not even something you would see in an Adam Sandler movie anymore.

Agree 100%

Is Kim a buttoned up go-getter who is shocked when her scam artist boy friend lies to get his job back or is she a woman wanting to commit petty crime and scam people in order for a cheap thrill?

The show is still shot well and has great characters and actors, but there are serious problems overall. The nacho storyline seems to be nothing more than an afterthought. The germans were pointless one season filler. Really disappointed.

From my view, I thought there was too much setting up early for the pay off. There were numerous episodes where it felt like nothing happened and then all of a sudden interesting things started to happen in the final two episodes.

It was definitely the weakest of all the seasons so far and most of that can probably be attributed to Chuck not being around anymore.

Kim was in total shock as she felt that Jimmy's ad-lib speech to the jury of peers was sincere. The original plan was to use the letter from Chuck to swoon the jury showing Jimmy's compassionate love for Chuck, etc. Kim thought the ad-lib speech from Jimmy was real as did the jury.

Obviously Kim had respect for both Jimmy and Chuck and was just in total shock that Jimmy was faking his feelings the whole time in his speech to the jury when it came off as very sincere. Just a case of not realizing what a person is capable of or their true nature. I think she enjoys the cheap thrills but this showed her the true nature of what Jimmy/Saul is capable of as a person.

I think (though we may never know?) that Kim legit thought Jimmy had some deep-seeded issues regarding Chuck and was suppressing his devastation over losing his brother, which is why she kept encouraging him to see a therapist. It wasn't until after the hearing that she finally realized that Jimmy actually didn't give a **** and probably even blamed Chuck for keeping him at the ambulance-chaser level. His speech to the teenager who was denied the scholarship supports this.

(Though this doesn't jive all that well with previous seasons where we see Jimmy taking almost motherly care of Chuck when he wouldn't leave the house)

No. The line before that was something like "I was seeing The Matrix" Dodging bullets was a Neo reference.

WTF are you talking about? Mike got to him first. He got him on the phone first, but Mike had already confirmed he was there and drove there. He didn't want to alert him that he was on his way, which is why he never talked to him. How do you get through life?
