I really like Nacho both as a character and actor. It almost seems inevitable that he will die since he's not in BB, but maybe he manages to leave the criminal environment and settle down.
Nacho is mentioned in s2 of BB. Saul, thinking the Cartel was kidnapping him says something like "It wasn't me, it was Ignacio."

anyone else get the feeling that Kim rewrote the letter so it was nice?

^Interesting theory, it kinda sounded like Howard, and he basically shared similar thoughts with Jimmy in previous seasons. Rising from the mail room etc... Definitely liked this episode the best so far.

I thought Rhea Seehorn did an amazing job in this scene with the realistic depiction of someone crying under the circumstances. I don't think we are supposed to assume her character is capable of faking that emotion.

I wonder if Kim dabbling in Jimmy's scamming is gonna rub off on her professionally and they'll be scamming together as lawyers once Jimmy comes back. She gets put away for some heavy financial crimes before Breaking Bad or something like that.

Does Kim receive the letter in a sealed envelope and give it to Jimmy unsealed? I don't remember and am too lazy to rewatch the episode. We're also assuming that the letter was typed (again I'm too lazy to look it up) rather than handwritten since Jimmy could probably spot differences in handwriting between the two.

No, the whole point of that letter was that it was supposed to be nice-sounding but anyone who actually knows their relationship knows that it was a bunch of back-handed compliments and Chuck's way of appearing like the good guy while actually being an *******.

The opening scene of Nacho getting shot was great. Gus is very thorough about making it look legit.

But, I wonder how careful the second shot was. Gus wanted Nacho to be able to make the phone call (so the twins would arrive before law enforcement). But, would Gus have been okay if Nacho died from his wounds?

Anyone who's seen Reservoir Dogs or Hamilton knows: it takes a long time to die from a gutshot.

(Can I be accused of posting a Hamilton spoiler, if I've never seen Hamilton?)

Kim didnt rewrite no damn letter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That shot to Nacho seemed risky but what do I know about
shooting people in the stomach.

Gus would not be okay with him dying because
Nacho belongs to Gus

From early on in season 1 up until the last 2 episodes, my initial speculation was that Kim was going to casually stumble on to something that she shouldn't have, end up killed and that will be the last ingredient for Jimmy to become Saul. Now, I'm leaning towards his full transformation being what ends up making her leave. I like that better.

yes. I think this ep was the first time I've really felt them going down totally different opposite paths.

I didn’t say she was fake crying, only that I got a feeling that here rewriting the letter so it was nice was a possibility. Not sure why she’d be fake crying there.

And I’m not saying that’s what happened, only that I got that feeling while watching it - there’s nothing in the show that suggests it, tho.

I think Kim's crying reaction was due to the combination of Chuck's backhanded compliments and Jimmy's uninterested, matter-of-factly tone while reading it out loud. Wouldn't work nearly as well if she changed the letter

As absurd as it is to me that people think Kim legit rewrote the letter

I TOTALLY understand why someone watching the show could have
that gut reaction upon first view and that is because the acting by Rhea was so good.

Her reaction in a real world scenario
COULD be interpreted as one of a loving partner who saw their
boyfriend being distant and reserved in the wake of his brothers death.
So not knowing what else to do she rewrites a letter hoping that it gives him some kind of closure and gets him past things.
He reads the letter in a cold and matter of fact manner, not getting emotional or reacting to it, so now she is sad in her failure to make him happy and sad that he may not be getting any better.

When would Chuck have written that letter? Howard could have slipped that letter in, as they have consistently tried to show how much he likes Jimmy.

Fraud doesn't seem like Howard's style. I suppose Chuck wrote it before the bank address con.
