Better Call Saul - Season 3 Better Call Saul - Season 3

It was a little too coincidental that a Los Pollos Hermanos truck was there just as the shoestrings broke years later. Perhaps some other method of showing years had gone by could have been used.

But, of course, the opening scene was incomprehensible until later in the episode. So, the show gets away with it via tricky editing.

Ah, I didn't realize the opening was actually future.

I doubt it's a coincidence that Jimmy uses a KC Royals lunchbox while working at a Cinnabon in Omaha/Nebraska, while Kim seems to be a Royals fan (shirt in season 2) who is originally from a small town close to the Nebraska/Kansas boarder which is only 100 miles south of Omaha.
There has to be a final break upaa because Jimmy destroys everything he touches. That is what he does. He'll ultimately be responsible for ruining Kim's career at the very least. She has to be out of the picture for BB and it has to be Jimmy's fault because that is how he rolls. He won't do it intentionally of course, just will happen in the course of Jimmy bein' Jimmy and not giving a **** about anyone but himself.

Mexican Dr. was of course same from BB

Kim is great. She's the anti-Skylar. Love her.

The stop sign in the opening scene had bullet holes. The present day sign didn't.

Yeah, I noticed that. I was simply expecting them to be 2 different locations.

Don't get too attached. I feel she's not long for the world.

To voice a different opinion, I feel like we'll see her character at least until 2019.

That's because the opening scene is the future.

The pollos truck was there to show that Gus takes over Hector's route after these guys get busted though, right?

When does Gus's "partner" make an appearance?
04-26-2017 , 02:45 PM
He's been dead for awhile already.

Did you guys know that Jimmy McGill looks a lot like Saul Goodman from Breaking Bad?

i guess we're supposed to be breathlessly speculating as to if/when he'll appear in a flashback for some unknown reason

I don't think Gus will take over the route immediately. The bust was just another chink in Hector's armor. I expect the robbery and bust combined are going to damage Hector's reputation with the cartel. Any future problems on the route will put Hector's position in great jeopardy. And surely, future problem are coming for Hector via Gus and Mike.

It's interesting that Gus's plan to harm Hector (the bust) is much more effective than Mike's (the robbery).

It seems impossible to trace the bust back to Gus/Mike.

However, the robbery was quickly traced back to Mike by Nacho even if Nacho keeps that information secret from Hector. Regardless, Hector knows somebody robbed him and has taken steps (two men in the truck instead of one). But, he's unlikely to think the bust was an attack by a rival.

For the sake of drama, I can imagine one of Hector's "contacts in the DEA" telling him, "Yeah man, it was weird, the dog found drugs sprinkled on the outside of the truck. Weird, huh?", and Hector immediately smelling a rat.
