Before coming across the $1.4M Jimmy was scamming people for a couple hundred bucks of which he was splitting with a partner. Through legitimate work he made $20k plus a 20% stake of a potential $20M class action settlement. That's many many multiples greater than even the $1.4M he would've stolen with Mike. Not to mention that 1.4 isn't even on the table.
The "huh?" was a reaction to you framing the choice as amazing career vs. "abstract" life of crime, as if Saul only has a theoretical understanding of how a life of crime could work for him. I tried to make this clear by adding emphasis and clipping your post in my quote at the point I was addressing with the "huh?". Sorry if you didn't pick up on that. I guess TV shows aren't the only medium where your comprehension is lacking. FYI the word "abstract" connotes the idea of no real world experience. Even at this point, Saul has associations with two career criminals (Nacho & Mike) that he could use. We also know that he is a qualified lawyer and has a knack for creative interpretation/usage of the law. We also know that he has previously lived a life of crime. Although scamming marks out of $100 here and there is not in the same league, it's experience that shouldn't be discounted. So abstract isn't the right word. He has a damn good idea about what makes a good criminal.

So your argument that it's conceivable he's going to make more money in crime based on the events of his life up until this point is completely absurd.
It really isn't. For one thing, you see this happen in BB. Not bad for inconceivable. Even if we didn't know that it actually happens, I don't know how you can deny that the opportunity is there for him. As I said in my last post, for all we know he might have his first criminal deal already lined up. I don't think this is a gigantic leap.
