Re: Better Call Saul: Premieres on Feb 8/9
Perhaps my main point is that there are tv-series that get aired even though their producers not yet have any clue where they are eventually taking the show and how it will end. The climate is such that shows get cancelled all the time and often that has to be factored in the storyline and the pace of the events; whether certain events get closure or not, whether it makes sense to introduce certain characters etc. I'm guessing on some occasions the production company has a good idea of a show with varying degree of completeness and they get the go-ahead to start doing the show and then it gets aired and renewed as long as the viewers tune up (wasn't Lost a great example of this?). Now whether or not this is the case with BCS, I don't know. I guess some people avoid this feeling of uncertainty by postponing the watching of shows to a later time when the show is finished.
As for the comedic elements or lack thereof, I can only say I have a terrible, terrible short-term memory. The show probably has provided some laughs or smirks thus far, lol. I hope there's more to come.

Sorta MILFy, but I don't think she's particularly incredible.
Bigger fan of Rhea.

Betsy reminds me of Lauren Holly. Here's LH in Picket Fences:
Damn, I don't remember seeing that scene. I wonder wtf happened there.

Having a major case of the crazy makes her hotter imo.

Incredible episode, this show has it all. I haven't been the biggest fan of the Chuck storyline, but seeing him and Jimmy team up was awesome.
During negotiation scene, Chuck just listens to everything and then "20 million." BOOM FISTPUMP. That got me fired up

Another great ep! Jimmy stumbles onto a big time case, Mike about to get his hands dirty... This show definitely at the top of my list.

Re: Better Call Saul: Premieres on Feb 8/9
I am just scared to see how Jimmy gets screwed on this case, if he wins the case I just don't see him going the Saul Goodman route with the money and fame that would come from it.
I loved when Chuck hammered them with the $20 million, I thought he was just getting overwhelmed but he was understanding the whole situation.
Great episode again.

"$20 million or we'll see you in court"
bad ass... but they're not gonna light the court with lanterns... seems like a pretty iffy bluff. Jimmy doesn't look capable of handling a massive federal class action on his own. He's clever and seems like has good instincts, but the heavy lifting stuff he's had to rely heavily on big brother. Hamlin is going to find his way to get his hands on the case and it's gonna be a bummer.
-
also just want to say again to redux and whoever else might be reading and wanting to post who is or is not going to show up in the show.. quit the posting/talking about IMDB casting lists.

I added redux to my ignore list. Came across his post talking about the IMBD casting list and wanted to kill him.

Not only that, but Chuck screwed himself out of the severance Jimmy's been trying to get for him. When he gave his code to get the files printed, I was screaming at the TV.

I think HHM is going to end up getting either the case itself or most/all of the settlement cash because using Chuck's billing code is a hard trail to the firm's resources being used, and then they go all lawyer about that.
I can see Jimmy having this incredible high and sense of accomplishment about having done some real good vs. some real bads taken away from him, and saying, "**** it."

Re: Better Call Saul: Premieres on Feb 8/9
Yeah I see it playing similarly. They'll probably get near the 20 million (with Kim getting a good portion of it, or doing something to ostracize Jimmy) and most will go to his brother and his firm. His brother will likely give Jimmy some pity $$$, Jimmy will go rogue and renounce his family name.

Re: Better Call Saul: Premieres on Feb 8/9
last scene, did he drop the box because he realized he was outside and should be "sick", or did he drop the box realizing he was healed?

That's the big question. I'm leaning towards he freaks out, but an argument could be made either way.

It didn't bother Chuck when he moved the cellphone in the mailbox. I think he's healed.

Re: Better Call Saul: Premieres on Feb 8/9
It sucks that we know that this possibly can't end well for Jimmy. I'm really rooting for the guy. I always got the sense that he was the lesser of all the evils in breaking bad. I mean you can only be so good while dealing with such bad people.
He really is one of, if not the best television underdogs in a long a time.

Re: Better Call Saul: Premieres on Feb 8/9
im surprised people loved this episode so much. i thought it was below avg compared to the rest. i still loved it, but not especially.
i understand that just about everyone has seen BB and can't help talking about it in this thread, but i haven't seen it, and so i didn't know for sure that things would go bad for jimmy.
it's kinda funny this show is called "better call saul" but there is no saul. he is jimmy.
i loved the early scene with just the sound of the printer going as jimmy gets his life dreams crushed. so brutal.
bob odenkirk has an amazing voice for this character.

...
The whole premise of the show is that it's based on a character known for years as Saul, and how that character comes to be that way.
I highly recommend you take a week off work and watch Breaking Bad.
