^ I think you just summed up the main purpose for the show's existence.

This is probably considered a hot take right now but I wouldn't be surprised if I felt the exact same way by the time BCS ends.

I've held back on posting Saul > Breaking Bad, mostly because a lot of shows can be good after 3 episodes (or 1 season), and then tank for all kinds of reasons.

But on paper, Better Call Saul has ample opportunity to be better than Breaking Bad I think (or at least as good).

Btw, over under on episode # where we first see

1) Jesse? I say we'll get a glimpse of him somewhere before the end of this season

2) Walt or someone from his family? Guaranteed Hank is coming, just a matter of time for a crossover with him.

Any chance later down the line this show jumps forward in time past the events in breaking bad, like the flash forward in the premiere? Seems like it could be possible, but difficult because i think the idea of the beginning is that Saul is pretty much just using his new identity and avoiding all personal interaction in fear for his life at this point.

I really love the fact that there are no unlikable characters atm (like Skyler, Walter Jr., Marie, etc.)

There's pretty much nothing to show after the BB timeline.

Walter Jr. Could always start cooking meth

That was an awesome episode though, really delved into how cunning Jimmy can be. I usually never catch on to a show until mid-way through the second or third season, so it's really starting to piss me off that I can't watch several episodes in a row. First world problems are the worst kind.

I'd also like to mention that I'm so glad Patrick Fabian is in this show. He's a personal favorite of mine, that I've never understood why he hasn't gotten to do bigger and better things. He carried The Last Exorcism a film with a 2 million budget to over 40 million at the box office, the sequel flopped without him.

Okay so there might be something

Quote:
“One of the great things about having a timeline which is flexible is that perhaps some of it takes place before ‘Breaking Bad,’ during ‘Breaking Bad’ and after ‘Breaking Bad,'” he said. “That gives us the ability to bring back characters that were killed on ‘Breaking Bad.'”

Although he said he wants Cranston’s teacher-turned-meth-master to make appearances on the show, he doesn’t want it to distract from Bob Odenkirk’s standalone storyline as criminal lawyer Saul.

Last episode absolutely killed me. Kind of weird that a light switch suddenly turned on and he went from doing it legit to being a schemer.

So did Jimmy/Saul plan on getting the cease and desist->losing that->faking the guy falling taking it down or was the last step just thinking of his feet?

My first instinct was to say that it was a last-minute thing, but the part where he didn't give a **** as his lady friend told him "you're gonna lose" probably indicated that he was thinking ahead and was ready to carry out that plan if he lost the legal action.

I think it was part of his plan all along. He spent a lot of money on the imitation, doing that without an end game makes no sense.

After he lost in front of the judge he immediately started to call news teams. Nobody bit except the college, but he needed his stunt on camera.

A couple things from last night:

Jimmy has already called the HHM attorney to meet them at home, so the Kettlemans can't roll down the hill with the sack full of money. We see he ends up with the bribe, but they must've hidden the money up in the mountains.

Does he clue Nacho in, to get back on his good side and get two cuts of the cash?

In each previous episode, there was a rather obvious line from some movie. I missed last night's; the closest I noticed was when Jimmy and his female friend were in the nail shop, discussing whether the billboard was personal, but Jimmy never quite said, "It's nothing personal...it's only business."

"You are the kind of lawyer guilty people hire" was the click If I got this. I dunno, seems legit to me, he had them in a corner with the half blackmail and they still laugh at him with the bribe.

Didn't get that really.

Also 4 eps into Better Call Saul and he's still Jimmy. If they tease that point all season I'm going to be very annoyed.

Not only that, he also didn't want his brother to see the billboard ripping off his law firm's logo. By doing that, Jimmy is basically stealing from his brother's company.

that's a good point. His brother doesn't hate that firm like he does.

Thinking back to the premier, watching your old commercials while you're in hiding seems extremely depressing.

Well then. Consider my mind blown. How long has Vince Gilligan been waiting to drop that?

--Loved the way they shot Chuck's outdoor adventure.

--Of course the stunt was planned from the beginning...why do you think they started the episode with a flashback to him working cons with a partner? Jimmy wasn't halfway up that ladder before I realized it.

--Why hide it from the brother? The brother is his whole life right now. He initially refused the bribe because he promised his brother he wouldn't be That Guy. That dog-and-pony show with the adding machine was not for tax reasons, but to make the money seem clean to his brother. Just like Walt's motivation was his family, Jimmy's motivation is his brother.

Day One. Cast and crew made that joke in every interview when the character was introduced, and LOL'd each time.

Last two episodes had more clues to make me change my mind about this, with the jail scene and some interactions at Chuck's house.

Chuck's condition is all about Jimmy. Jimmy hides his scamming from Chuck because it makes Chuck's condition worse.
