It's a breaking bad spin off. If you enter the thread you should expect it.

I don't think it was ever fleshed out on BB what the relationship between Mike and Saul was (which works out really well for this show), but it was clear that there was a relationship between the two imo.

My guess would be that Mike was employed by Saul and that in Gus's early days he used Saul for "services" and Mike ended up working for Gus. This is purely guesswork of course but as far as I can remember it fits really well within the universe of the show. Gus never really seemed to worry about Saul (again, as far as I can remember) while Saul always knew everything and was a known snake.

One of my favorite lines from Breaking Bad.

I love that they use different video behind the opening titles each week....and how they're shot.

I will say that it was almost weird seeing Jesse say it. Had Saul, or even Walt, said it, it would've made more sense. It was great no matter who said it obviously.

Agreed. Putting BB stuff in spoilers in this thread is ridiculous. Even more ridiculous is someone who comes into this thread expecting that.

I guess I was oversimplifying the situation in my last post. I think that he probably did stuff for both. But all three of them knew that Gus was really the one in charge.

It's definitely top 5 for sure, but it didn't give me chills like "stay out of my territory" and "run" did.

in episode 2 when tuco took saul n skateboarders to the desert did nacho try to change tucos mind about not killing saul because of saul saying he was trying to get the kettlemans as clients and nacho came up with a plan to rob them on the spot?

Sorry guys but "I am the one who knocks" is the best BB line and it's impossible to say otherwise.

I think what you describe is how it went down more or less. It's not clear how much of a plan Nacho at that point. It might have been as little as "maybe we shouldn't kill this guy until I think about this some more", but it was a large part of Nacho's motivation to intervene.

I think I'd go the "Tread Lightly" line before that one. Considering what was behind it and came after it, yeah.

God, I need to watch BB again. I've only seen it twice, so I've forgotten a few of the little things that made it so great.

One awesome part that comes to mind, is when they're gonna kill Jesse after training up a new partner for Walt. Walts phone call to Jesse and then the closing scene where he opens the door and Jesse's there shaking with gun in hand. Just wow!

What you guys think of Nacho?

It's SO weird for me to watch the show, because I grew up with that guy's brother. That whole family is JACKED, Michael is the smallest of the 3. Never seen a group of brothers with more drive than them. The youngest plays pro football, oldest has done a lot of everything (was a pop star in Europe for a while). But looks like Michael is going to be the standout.

This is what got him really noticed. He did way more with this than Orphan Black I find (better role for him to show his chops):

And I think this Nacho part is going to make him a big star, certainly I'm rooting hard for him. Was funny watching a reporter grill him a while back on when he got shot in real life. I figure almost no actors have been really shot before. Gotta be a big thing to draw from when you play a gangster.

I'm fine if Hank makes an appearance in this series but hopefully not, "Jesus Christ...

Mike's no more half measures speech,

He talks about having his gun in the guys mouth and saying "This is it. This is how it ends."

was a high point for me.

I've adapted that speech and passed it off as my own in an attempt to motivate my daughter with her homework, it kind of worked too!

Man that episode was kind of painful to watch imo. Tuco and his associate Nacho really need more screen time felt like the comedy was falling flat.
