kind of agree. Im liking it so far but not LOVING it at all. I mean its ok, def has that BB feel, but so far i feel like its been kinda predictable and slow. I mean Im in every week but lets cool our jets here. People saying it was the best hour of TV ever like lol

What's the difference between the best and 23rd best ever hour of tv? I assume if the former were to air next week and be called such, claims of overreaction would ensue.

This comment is really neither here nor there but your use of the word "conversion" reminded me that, in the bible, before he was an avid apostle, Paul was originally Saul, avid persecuter of Christ's early disciples. From the "moral" standpoint, Jimmy experiences a reverse-conversion and becomes Saul. Of course, I've no idea whether or not this little detail is just a happy coincidence.

So far, I am loving the show. The only thing that annoyed me was the prospective client montage. This "audition of zanies" seems to me to be one of the stalest scenes in TV and movies today. But even in that instance, the patient shot of the woman riding down her stairs redeems the whole affair.

Actually, Johnny Carson's first point is interesting and his second is correct. Didn't seem like babbling observations.

Well thanks ArcticKnight. I know that 2p2 is extremely adverse to any kind of biblical discussion, so I tried to avoid a kneejerk reaction by putting "moral" in quotation marks to make it clear I wasn't trying to shoehorn in some sort of theological argument.

But, to sirwish-- if there is still any confusion, check your inbox. I have pm'd you the text of Acts 9:20-21. Everything should be clearer now.

Or possibly Huell gets caught reusing a Panera iced tea cup over multiple visits...

Jesse was supposed to be a *** up drug dealer, most dealers are just like that. My friends dealer would come to his house haul assing down the street, music blaring and parking all fuked up blocking the sidewalk on his driveway. It was amazing, just idiots with born to lose tattoos.

BCS is a great show.

Excellent episode. For the occasional talk ITT about being as good as BB once it's over, I don't see it happening. Not sure it can reach the heights of BB knowing where they'll be in a couple years.

I think some of the best we can hope for is Mike-focused stories as he becomes entwined with the Albuquerque underworld.

Jonathan Banks in that episode delivered a better performance than any single actor in any Breaking Bad episode. Godamn that was powerful.

I had to go look at his filmography to figure out how such a talent stayed so relatively obscure for so long. He's really done a ton, just never anything this good.

this is the first time i've been up to date on the show, so haven't really read the thread a ton.

i did pop in after 2 episodes and shook my head in despair at the comments like 'oh man tuco already! i hope we get gus in ep 3! and maybe the twins in ep 4!?'. jesus christ at people who just want this to be a breaking bad reunion. glad to see those comments have subsided somewhat.

i'm enjoying the show a lot, but i do think you lose a lot in prequels simply because you know where these characters will end up. there was some incredibly tense moments involving the main characters in BB that can't really exist here.

how awesome would it be if they just kill some character off that was clearly alive in BB

I might be confused by the constant flashing back, but I don't see that McGill is 'good' right now. Maybe from a post modern sense that he is exciting and his opponents are drab.

He's not *good* per se, but he's certainly on better ethical ground than Saul Goodman is in BB.

I don't think the suspense and tension will ever be as high as BB's best moments. The stakes are almost certain to be lower, also. But it does have potential for more humor, emotional depth, social-political exploration, and standalone episodes that don't feel like they're stalling the show's mythology.

The BCS > BB stuff in this thread is just plain silly.

How can you reasonably make an informed comparison between a show that consisted of 62 episodes and one that has been on the air for six?

How about we just enjoy the fact that Vince Gilligan & Co. are ridiculously good at television for now and save the arguing for later?

great attention to detail. amazing episode.
It's amazing to think about all of the details, many of them subtle, that have to be considered when constructing a TV show, especially one that is closely related to another show that was enormously popular.

I didn't even notice the Yuengling.
