Watched the first season recently and enjoyed it. A good but not great show. The over-the-top hugely unrealistic and slapstick elements keep it from greatness imo. Reminds me of Dexter a bit. It's kind of like if Arrested Development and Breaking Bad were mixed together. I'm very interested to see what direction season 2 takes.

Point taken, I'm just saying it keeps it from being great in my eyes. I prefer more subtle comedy and realistic shows. It takes itself seriously at times (and often does a great job at it), but then the outlandish things and cartoonish characters undermine those moments.

I definitely agree that the show is walking a tightrope on tone and what kind of show it actually is. It's pretty dramatic for a comedy and pretty silly for a drama. Having said that I think it succeeds in doing so and I love the show.

I need more of the guy from Gotham and Barry in my life. That actor always makes me smile. That said, I'm not sure why Barry doesn't just kill Hank, other than that he's cool.

The scene in the clothing store and Hank listening to the pop music after threatening Barry were funny. Not sure how I feel about the dip**** detective being on Barry's trail immediately. Maybe there will be multiple shifts and turns this season.

Gaddy, he had been retired as a hit man for 6+ months, before he had to kill the detective lady. I think the whole point is he genuinely wants to never do it again.

Came to post this about Gotham guy. Something about him cracks me up all the time in this show. Not just the lines he has, his facial expressions and inflections are hilarious. Binged S1 yesterday.

His conversation with Barry in the car at the start of the last episode cracked me up. First it was about the bullet and the book and then his reaction to Barry asking him if he thought he was evil was great. This show is awesome.
