At least it can't be worse than Lost.

Good episode this week. The Carrie/Job/Cruz fight was great, and they set things up for an epic showdown between the Bunkers. The serial killer story still feels tacked on.

It's an homage to the fake serial killer in the last season of The Wire.

You really could feel the budget cuts this episode

Can't believe this is the point we're at before the series finale. It must be 3 hours long or else it will suck.

What is most confusing about this season is that it seemed like such an easy setup with only 8 episodes. Start of the season would be the crew trying to find Job, and then the rest would be the Hood-Proctor rivalry building to a final showdown. Aryan brotherhood stuff would be the main side story, and would focus on Bunker trying to take down his brother. Key action sequences would be rescuing Job, and then Bunker v Bunker, Hood v Burton, and Hood v Proctor fights.

Some of this still may happen, but hard to see how it could be satisfying in one episode. The serial killer story was flat out terrible, the way they found and rescued Job fell completely flat, Dushku was a pointless character and poor casting, the Aryan brotherhood story could have been good but spent too much focus on a new character who was then killed out of nowhere, and the action sequences outside of the invasion of Carrie's house have been terrible. We had a setup for two great fight scenes this episode, and instead didn't get to see Burton do anything and the fight with the Satan worshipers would have been poor even by network TV standards.

One of the most disappointing seasons of a show I have ever watched. I thought at a minimum that Banshee would always been fun, and virtually nothing this season has been.

Yup agreed 100%. Though the fight scene with the dog was cool as well .

My predictions:

1/ Rebecca was not killed by serial killer
2/ Cartel will end up fighting nazis
3/ FBI agent will die saving someone else
4/ Doakes will be involved in a showdown/fight
5/ Procter will die
6/ Hood will die

Agree 100%. IMO with the story we've been given so far, a 2 hour movie might have been better than these 8 eps.

They built Cruz up to be this badass then knock her off in the shower. That was a head scratcher.

Also why do they continue to emphasize Dawson is a meth head? Hopefully they'll use the glass pipe to kill someone in the finale.

I'm glad Job got his groove back.

Speculation:
Spoiler:
Proctor definitely killed Rebecca. IMO he was always in love with her. Between his choking out the runaway he let stay in her room and his lack of feeling over seeing the serial killer, AND his torching of the cabin after he found out Hood knocked her up... who else could it be?

One ending I'd like to see is Banshee completely razed with only Hood, Carrie & Deva left standing. Everyone else is toast.

This better be the case. Having such an integral character get knocked off by random a random villain makes no sense. There needs to be history between Rebecca and her killer. I suspect Proctor when he found out about her relationship with Hood then used the serial killer's M.O. to cover his tracks.

Sadly this was the worst season in my opinion but hopefully this final can deliver.

Great finale. The only minor gripe I have is that I wish the scene after the credits was Proctor removing the bodies of the cartel death squad from his driveway.

Yep. Or show him dead on his driveway. Either way.

Meh. Too little plot, too much sentiment and extended goodbye scenes.

Or show him getting shot and falling into a fountain after saying say hello to my little friend.

Always suprised how easy it seems to break somebodys neck even if you are just lying there probably in a lot of pain because of the broken leg.

I'm more surprised at how easy it is to time smashing your car into the side of another moving vehicle at a high speed when you don't even have a way of tracking it.

Anyway, I thought the finale was . . . OK. The Bunker fight was good, the goodbyes were fine, the Carrie action scene was OK but cheesy, the Hood-Burton fight was horribly underwhelming, Proctor's death (?) scene was weak for such an important character, I'm still amazed there was virtually no Hood-Proctor conflict this season, and I really didn't need Eliza Dushku in any of this.

You'd have thought they'd go big for the finale but nothing here will go into "Best of" lists for Banshee fight and action scenes.

I thought the fights were OK, but they've done better in the past indeed.

Finale was pretty disappointing for me, the whole way how the finished the Procter chapter was just disappointing for me, I know he indirectly got rekt by Carrie but him being killed by the cartel which had no major part in the show was just stupid imo. The nazi brother fight was great but the whole Brotherhood storyline ends up being superlame as well, in the end some brotherhood boss comes in and sets things straight and nothing else happens. Why did they feel the need to set up so many little storylines this season when they are all ended in super uninteresting ways?

Until the last episode this also didn't feel like a final season at all. I felt really confused when the show was finishing up because it felt so out of place and rushed, like when a show gets cancelled unexpectedly and they make 1 extra episode to finish it off.

Unlike Angel, which was GOAT for getting cancelled late in a season but somehow still having a satisfying finale.

Maybe I'm in the minority but IMO a sub par finale to a sub par season.

The only big reveal moment for me was when they found Dalton's dungeon, which explained why the creepy dolls always showed up in the opening credits.

S4 had no heist. Job did get his kidnapper's cash but we never got the planning & execution.

Did anyone else notice than the car crash was the same maneuver that the townies pulled on Hood & Emmet early in S1? And the wreck ended up in the EXACT same stream? Same camera shot.

Everything the FBI agent did this season could've been packaged into 1 or 2 episodes.

We never got the Hood/Proctor showdown that's been teased for 4 seasons.

Technically everyone is still alive (except for Dalton & Rebecca)! I feel like the viewers were robbed of true resolution. IMO the final scene should have been Hood helping Proctor kill the cartel assassins, then killing Proctor himself.

I waited until last week to watch this season. All I can say is that it was extremely odd. They were still able to pull off the emotional beats quite well but the stakes were never high enough and some things just didn't make sense. Like how does Hood not get involved with Carrie's war against Proctor after Deva is almost killed? And why does he suddenly know where to crash into Proctor after the drugs are blown up?

And where the hell were the epic fight scenes? Not a single Banshee level fight in the whole season. So weird considering we were used to getting one almost every episode.
