Trailer is confusing imo, I hate it when trailers combine old season with new season stuff all mixed up without any chronological logic. Also the trailer made believe for a second that they got Jason Statham as a guest star . But it's that guy that looks like Jason Statham from an earlier season.

Having said that I'll stop being a downer and say I CAN'T WAIT HOLY ****.

With a show like this, and the fact that its the final season, I completely understand the approach.

It's back! Good first episode. Glad we're still getting to see a lot of Rebecca even though she's dead.

Love the season's format.

Loled at the big bad of the cia guy just dying in a two minute scene as an afterthought. It felt like a big tonal shift from what they originally planned but it worked to just end that plot and get us back to the new end game.

For an episode with two brutally bloody killings, two other killings, two torture scenes, Burton taking off his glasses and beating down a couple neo Nazis and a naked dead body repeatedly being shown it weirdly felt like a slow episode with not much violence.

^LOL exactly my thought, it felt slow, despite all the violence. I guess it´s because we kinda didnt get any reveals, no footage of the murderer as in "the viewer knows but the hero doesnt" type of information about him, nor did we get to see job alive or not, "viewe knows, hero doesnt". What we did get to know was just the default stuff, HOOD bouncing back, how banshee changed(mayor thingy, etc)

I am expecting great stuff from this season though.

Agree that first episode felt slow in terms of plot development. With only 8 episodes they should be moving fast. I'll guess it'll just the first episode given the time jump and to set up the atmosphere where everything went quiet for 1,5 years and everything is about to go to **** again. Which will be next episode .

I think they had to do so much in the first episode its surprising how much they packed in.

They built up three distinct time periods of story that are all coming together to some kind of finale. Its very ambitious and gives no room for an extended brawl.

i dont know about you guys, but these first two episodes have been amazing imo. Im thoroughly impressed in the way the story is being told.

Maybe I'm in the minority but I think all of the time jumping so far this season seems unnecessary. Perhaps because they had to cram the final season into only 8 episodes?

idk, by banshee standards these two eps been kinda slow, which is a insane thought considering if we compare action to any other show its been absolutel insanity,... but banshee standards is a whole other thing.

That action scene with the dog was great. I've enjoyed the past 2 episodes but I find it weird how they are handling the final season.

There are only 6 episodes left and they are not showing clear direction and they are even setting up new plotlines. There's Job, there's the murder of Rebecca, there's Procter getting involved with the cartel, there's Hood and Carrie both being complete messes, and finally the nazis now running Procter his operation. A couple of these could easily come together but still it seems like a lot to tie up in 6 episodes.

I also think it has to happen somewhere along the way that Procter and Hood become mortal enemies again because there will be a showdown between them, right?

I'm thinking maybe the head writer was planning on a 5 season arc, but Cinemax unexpectedly limited them to 4. The flashbacks are key plot points that were intended to be part of the penultimate season. They easily could have squeezed in another season with Proctor becoming mayor, Rebecca doing stuff behind his back, Hood Carrie and Sugar on a hopeless search for Job, etc.
It would have been better that way. Best show ever on Cinemax, and the Knick is the only other one that even came close.

It wasn't canceled, ending it this season was the creator's decision. Here is a piece he wrote about it.

The chase scene at the beginning was pretty stupid but otherwise great episode. Glade Job is back.
