The Bachelorette - Season 14 The Bachelorette - Season 14

06-01-2018 , 01:19 PM
This season features Becca Kufrin's redemption story after being ruthlessly dumped by Arie Luyendyk Jr.' on the previous season of The Bachelor.

S16 has a cast of free-spirited, humorous alpha males to make up for the absolute debacle caused by casting Arie, which begs a philosophical question of whether or not someone was fired or promoted for that.

During the premier's traditional cocktail party:

- A former Harlem Globetrotter dunked on The Bachelorette!!!
- A professional "colognoisseur" (unemployed?) was deemed as "smelling so good!"
- A male model displayed serious cognitive disability and looks to be the troll castmate, this season's Corinne, basically.
- A venture capitalist showed up in a chicken suit, clucking "BE-CCA!".
- A medical sales rep rolled up in a mini-van and showed Becca her potential future.
- A prim and proper tech bro that developed an app
- A stuntman with flowing locks and a sharp wit
- Professional sales trainer rolled out a church choir from the limo. Later he pulled Becca aside and threw one of the bros under the bus - sales bro allegedly received a scandelous text and told Becca -- who sent the guy packing. Interesting she didn't also send the trainer home for lacking tact. Extremely curious fella....
- Two guys are football players... one is a virgin that runs a non-profit, the other one enjoys working with play-doh.

IMO - Becca is stunningly beautiful and would be a great woman to be in a relationship with.

Will her naivety lead her down another less-certain path of love? Tune in Mondays at 8pmET on ABC to find out.

I've been hate watching this stupid show for way too long (Howard Stern used to talk about it on his show so I started watching it out of curiosity). I enjoy listening to podcasts about the bachelor way more than I do watching the show itself. I like how most of them take it seriously and buy into the premise of the show even though it's totally absurd. It's the modern day soap opera disguised as reality tv.

Favorite part so far this season is all the investigative reporting on Lincoln and how he allegedly uses the floor for his bathroom habits. Reality Steve and reddit were on the case. Pretty funny stuff.

Nobody that saw the premier should be too surprised.

Bachelorette contestant Garrett Yrigoyen is speaking out about the controversy surrounding his alleged social media likes.

On Thursday, Yrigoyen, 29, released a statement on his new Instagram account.

“To those who I have hurt and offended: This is all new to me. I went on the Bachelorette for the adventure and possibility of falling in love, not fame,” said Yrigoyen, who received the first impression rose on Monday’s premiere.

“I did not know what to expect once the show aired. I am sorry to those who I offended, and I also take full responsibility for my ‘likes’ on Instagram that were hurtful and offensive,” he continued. “garret_yrigs12 was my former Instagram handle and I decided to take it down and start fresh because I have learned an extremely valuable lesson and am taking steps to grow, become more educated, and be a better version of myself. I am not perfect, and I will never be anywhere close, but now I will always be more informed and aware of what I am liking and supporting, not just on Instagram, but in life.”

He added, “I never realized the power behind a mindless double tap on Instagram and how it bears so much weight on people’s lives. I did not mean any harm by any of it. My Instagram ‘likes’ were not a true reflection of me and my morals.”

I can't seem to get a read on Becca. I think she made out with 8 guys in a row on one of the group dates. Even someone who's name she forgot earlier in the day, lol.

Through 3 episodes:

- David has proven to be kind of a piece of ****, belittling Jordan, saying the word "intellectual" too many times for comfort. Kind of hilarious that he ended up in intensive care because his bed wasn't luxurious enough.
- Clay is the most upstanding guy in the show's history
- FOOTBALL
- Colton drama seems a tad manufactured, and maybe if he could go back in time and try out for n*sync he would. But I like him and think he's as genuine as a golden retriever can get

This **** has gotta be scripted.

I've warmed up to Garrett, though still not convinced he isn't secretly a complete lunatic. He expresses himself in a childlike way and seems sweet.

Chris is the front runner, she was quite smitten with him talking about his upbringing. I expect drama with Blake to pick up based on the foreshadowing late last episode... he seems genuinely emotionally unstable. Colton's probably making it to hometowns.

After reading ^ about him pooping on the floor, I wasn’t that surprised at the Flat Earther confessional and Q&A he gave last episode, although the revelation of Lincoln being a domestic abuser left me wondering how he gets cast on a primetime television show....then it hit me (pun intended) that ABC may have performed a good deed by making him famous.

Caught up. Season is really boring. They should have made either Kendall or Becca M the bachelorette. Worst thing that came from Arie changing up his mind is we're stuck with a completely dull character as the lead. Nothing is happening besides Jordan being a Michael Scott character which I appreciate.

Becca reminds me of a sexy chatbot. “Being here for the right reasons” has become instant cringe.

Spoilers for tomorrow night-
Spoiler:
Chris has a massive blowup and reveals himself to have no soul.

chris might have been messing around just to stir things up, it's hard to believe he's that fragile. the meltdown was pretty benign, she's over him now though. ironically he may have earned Wills a spot in hometowns.

sending john home may have been puzzling but it showed becca's kind side by not dragging him through another week with no chance of winning. chris and lincoln seem like dead men walking next week. things seem more manufactured than normal.

Jordan is the only good thing about this season. What a ****ing legend. John is pretty awesome too.

Also Lincoln hid the fact that he had a sexual assault charge pending. What a creep. He won't be at MTA.

lotta jackasses at MTA. i wanna see how well david embraces having a personality disorder and chris will no doubt be obnoxiously present.

colton jason and garret seem like good bets for hometowns. i'd guess wills but she's hard to read. seems like in the next episode becca creates mad drama and maybe reveals her dark side?????? hopefully. poor blake might not be able to handle it.

blake
jason
garrett

are all going to have sex with becca next week in the fantasy suite. it seems like the cameras are paying special attention to blake's anxiety -- he's often shown rambling, and his facial expressions are terse and quickly forming -- like he's forcing himself to be happy. blake's dad asked him if he had any conversations with becca about her past and he said 'no' and that 'hard conversations are going to always be coming up'. it seems like garrett is the most into her and really wants to make it work; jason i wanna say is probably a good guy but it's clear he's selling it and it seems forced; while blake is like totes head over heals but his head is just all over the place. blake took becca to his high school at his hometown, and told her about a school shooting they had and how it messed him up; which for becca it seemed like "okay, he's opening up even more, i love that" when she should also be thinking "and he's got at least minor issues from this, i need to figure out how complex they are before marrying this dude," but she doesn't express deep thoughts on what she's dealing with --- she loves handsome men, she loves being told the 'right things', everything she says sounds sweet but almost manufactured; I predict this ends with Garrett proposing, they actually seem kind of right for each other.
