I remember a bunch of shots of crabs crawling past sleeping people, but that could easily be early morning.

With all these twists you're gonna hit/miss on a few. Most 'twists' on Australian reality shows are just a way to keep the show going longer.
I swear there were night shots first episode?

Yeah that was some awkward way of forcing the information to come up for Brooke. Then again the whole twist was a train wreck to begin with.

Idk what the tv market is in Australia but I would assume they really can't afford to have a production this big for anything less than 25-30 episodes maybe even more. They're just trying to get the most amount of episodes for their money so they're finding any excuse to have episodes with no evictions so that's why they're adding twists or ending episodes not at tribal.

Yup. From what I've heard it's 26 episodes and the production staff is half of the US

Australian Survivor going all FPS with the twists. They start with a hundred players on each tribe and every other episode no one goes home. They're really milking this series for all they can.

A core fundamental of Survivor is that if someone is voted off they get their torch snuffed and get sent home. (At least for a normal, non Redemption Island season). The way this show is headed, it'll end up with everyone living in a house together with new punishments such as only being allowed to eat PB&J sandwiches.

i can't get over kristie being number 2 in the fan voting. how is that possible?

i did like her impossibly bad plan to catch fish though

God damn Australian Survivor producers. Why the **** did they do that **** twist to then just merge at 13?

It just doesn't make sense to me.

Super annoyed that one my 2 favorite peeps on the show had to go tonight, Phoebs or Krisitie.

Starting from this episode forward I'm going to skip the previews for the next show. The next time on survivor segment at the end has spoiled every single tribal for me. At no point during the challenge did I think Vavau was going to win despite being so far ahead. The previews had shown Kristie and Phoebs gunning for each other before tribal. Can get real annoying now that the tribe has merged and they conveniently focus a certain cast member.

nooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!! phoebe!!!!! she was such a beast.

she was so generous in her post eviction interview, just like craig was. its really nice to see. maybe it's an australian thing? though nick doesn't seem to have that same outlook lol

sanaapu really should have thrown that last challenge to get rid of sue

I wasn't paying attention to specific players, but didn't the blue tribe have to violate the rule that no one can sit out in back-to-back challenges? Thought it was unusual that the host still made a point to say "no one can sit out back-to-back" during the most recent episode. When they had 10 players there had to be at least one person (two if the previous challenge also had 10 players) who sat out in consecutive challenges.

Obviously not a big deal, just thought it was interesting

Super tilted at Phoebe being out

My main rooting interest now is in seeing Kristie getting evicted

You also liked Sarah in BBCAN3, right? (I seem to remember you defending her in the 2p2 thread). In that case, not surprised; kinda similar imo

I think Brooke has a strong chance at winning. Her reasoning for taking Sue was spot on. Her social game has been very good and if she falls on the wrong side of the numbers it's likely that Flick would be targeted before her.

Such a class act, sad to see her go.

Surprised that Phoebe wasn't the target last tribal and beginning of this episode. I thought Kat gave them clear insight in the old Aganoa on the first merge day so they should've known Phoebe was close with lee and el while kristie literally has nowhere to go post-merge.

Count me as Team Kristie too. Not because I find her hot but because I think she's playing a subtle game of intentionally getting people to underestimate her. And I thought she handled the grilling from FauxProbst really well. I could actually see her going pretty far post-merge.

K could indeed go far, but one of her big issues is that everyone else sees her as a goat. She may indeed be playing dumb and getting folks to underestimate her, but if a jury continues to see her as scatter-brained (such as during her terrible handling of the "well I never saw Phoebe's idol" issue), then she's not going to win. As cliche as it sounds, she really needs a "big move" to turn around that perception of her.

she's drawing dead. no one respects her gameplay. she's not a game player. she doesn't manipulate and control people. you have to be in charge of the game at some point to win survivor, or at least be super liked(ala connor's only route to victory). she'll never be in charge of the game.

she might go deep, but she has "0% chance of winning"

The way she handled the idol situation I think it's much more likely she's just dumb, not playing dumb.

The last two twists have been really bad (the swap and Brooke picking a player twists). Kind of losing interest in this season, hopefully it picks up.

I agree with you Nick, first few episodes were very good. Normally I don't care much for the early eps in any given season, but this was different. I think because the characters on the show are more interesting and more time was devoted to them. These twists are at best pointless and are clearly added as an obvious ploy to drag the show out longer. Hopefully post-merge they'll keep things how they should be.
