Did anyone seriously go into the final 5 not realising who was going to make ftc?
The current season has so far seemed to listened to its fans and shelved a lot of the ridiculous twists which made the last few seasons so frustrating.

However, the editing while marginally better still feels shambolic.

-In S4 I felt Pia was the only person from the final 19 onwards that had the consistently positive none circumstantial content to be a viable winner candidate
-In S5 I felt the same about David from the final 18 onwards
-In S6 - I felt the same way about Hayley from the final 19 onwards

In S7 at the final 19 I had two names in mind as potential winners being Chrissy and Sam. though Sam could only be getting so much none circumstantial content because of being a returnee.

Sandra Nina & Sophie got big edits but this was for obvious reasons.

I would love for the show to surprise me but once again I have wrote off all of the following 10 people based on their purple edits;

Jordan, Jordie, Benny, Shay, Juicy Dave, Jesse, Josh, KJ, Mel, Michelle

Mark and Kahn have had consistent edits but largely negative edits and likely a bigger edit being linked to being returnee player / masterchef name)

Confessional count 9 episodes in

Nina has since gone so the front three were 11 confessionals above 4th place in KJ (who had a lot of circumstantial Sophie content hence the 12 in one episode spike)

Jay going home with 0 confessionals and the twins having 1 between them in 9 episodes is some brutal purpling.

If final 4 isn't some combo of Mark/Sam/Chrissy/Jordie/Jesse I'll eat my hat. They edit Aus season's too obviously I'm afraid. I
d love for Khanh or KJ to sneak in there but I doubt it.

Winner has to be Chrissy Sam or Mark.

I just can't decide if Sam and Marks big consistent edits are because of being returnee players or because one of them is the winner.

As per always I have no idea how good/bad anyone is actually playing because 90%+ of the cast get purpled

After pipping for Chrissy as my final 19 winner pick, with Sam and Mark the other two considerations, starting to look more and more like Chrissy's story has ran out of steam and Sam & Marks consistent dominating edits are because one of them (Mark) wins.

It really has just been the none stop Mark and Sam show from the final 15 onwards.

Aside from the shows editing style over the past four seasons meaning the post merge is a huge boring predictable slog, what makes matters worse is both Sam and Mark make for unbelievably dull tv characters.

I agree, the editing is terrible.

Me and the wifey do a draft each season.

Past two seasons we drafted the winner with first pick. This season I got the first pick and I went with Mark, honestly seemed like the only possible winner from the first episode. Let’s see if we go 3 in a row :P

Edit: I guess I should clarify that we draft after having watched the first ep.

The Meranian review on youtube made a point which I personally missed in his final 12 power rankings video (I only caught his last season rankings but he also had Hayley as the number 1 by a country mile last season very early on)

He's had Mark as his winner pick all the way back from episode one as apparently they handed Mark an almost identical confessional to Hayley where he goes down the whole tribe and lists out who is with who, what all of the dynamics/alliances are and what his game plan is going to be.

If and when Mark ends up winning this game, this sort of thing is just so shoddy if people can sniff it out so easily

Also Mark saying that Jordie 'Is a trained gardener, and i'm a trained killer' might be the most I've rolled my eyes at a confessional in quite some time.

He's really starting to feel like the Dan Bilzarian of Australian survivor to me

Well thank god that is over and done with.

Australian Survivor, if the network actually gives you another season after that shower of s***, for the love of god edit the show properly.

Giving Mark an identical episode 1 confessional to Hayley, followed by a highly telegraphed winners edit thereon after, the obligatory 19 purple edits, 4 obvious loser edits and a half hearted decoy winner edit in Chrissy which completely ran out of steam by the final 13 is nowhere near good enough.

Very unsurprising words coming from Shay in the post season.

Saw plenty of it going on within the edit and jury villa scenes, from men constantly labelling each other as 'lions' but the women as 'goats', Mark running through the great competitors he needs to beat at tribal and just listing all the men, Josh blabbering on about how Chrissy and KJ can tap into their 'motherly strength' when Jonathon pointed out that he completely ignored them when mentioning challenge completion.

Mel, Michelle, KJ, Chrissy and Shay (and Sam in the post merge) really were only ever there to be seen and not heard by the boys club.

What a terrible season. I thought Aus All Stars was bad but this was just dreadful. The three women botching the final 5 vote was one of the most painful things I've ever seen.

Heroes vs villains (half) returnee player cast starting to be announced.

Could be such a good franchise without the worlds worst reality tv editing going. Will be interesting to see which 9 of the 12 returnees get completely purpled I guess

King George and Shonee will get a ton of confessionals if they even make it to the merge, hard not to see another lopsided editing season unless both of them go pretty early.

Don't forget 120 confessionals of Jordie talking about how hes the joker, along with them all changing outfits three different times during the same confessional

I expect all 12 of the 'fans' tribe will be completely invisible unless if one of them wins
