both my wife and I were both thrilled when they mentioned he was going to sing it. He didn't sing it super great but who doesn't love that song and think of Back to the Future when they hear it?

Siobhan looked great but apart from the awesomeness of the end I didn't like the song choice.

I don't get Paige. Sometimes she is decent but then she has also given the two worst performances of the season now. Tim sucks every week. I'd vote Paige off just because how bad that was... I can see people on tour putting up with Tim for 10 minutes or w/e but Paige would be boo'd off stage.

I feel like Paige's voice must be shot or something. Something is up, there's no way she was really this terrible when they let her through.

Crystal was great, pretty much everyone else sucked (including my geek crush Siobhan ). Didi was better than the judges gave her credit for imo but still not good. I hope Casey James gets hit by a truck.

It is a lot better for idol if tim is top10 since teenage girls will still be happy.

Have you heard her other weeks? of course she's this terrible. She has been this bad every week except for one.

Didi sang without her trademark "warble" tonight, and while she was less annoying because of that, she did show that she can't really sing.

If Siobhan hadn't built up so much credit for great past performances, I would have said that what she did was awful. She's earned a pass, though, but that was terrible.

Andrew has used up all of his immunity idols.

I'm not generally in favor of murdering people in cold blood on national television but in Paige's case I'd make an exception.

Siobaby looked ridiculous and did a completely over the top performance and still managed to give me a stiffy.

I'm so glad Lee sang The Letter after I posted the Daughtry version. However, I think he did pretty well. He actually moved and performed a bit. Vocally was good most of the time, but had some shaky spots. For all my Lee hating, I think he was decent. Compared to Daughtry, vocally he's garbage, but for him, it was good

i agree, pretty subpar week. 4-5 were god awful. 3-4 were average, only Crystal did anything close to amazing, and even her's wasn't amazing.



Lucky for Siobhan/Lee/Aaron etc, is we are in that lull area. There is so much talent at the top, we have this week and two more weeks of trimming the garbage before it gets tough. I mean, if Paige survives this week, that's another bye for the top 6. If she doesn't get cut, that means Tim or Andrew are gone.


Basically, get rid of Paige 11th, Tim 10th, and Andrew 9th.

I have to agree, season 9 is looking pretty weak overall

I am not a singer, but I am a professional musician (drums in a cover band obv)

so from this experience of being on stage and performing, I think that Paige has got the yips, and just can't shake them. We have seen her sing well in Hollywood, but every performance since the top 24 has been brutal. Tonight was the worst. She just seemed nervous from the very start. Like she's expecting to fail, so she does fail.

I thought just about everyone was either bad or average. Crystal's version of the JJ song was fine but if half the field had picked the right song it wouldn't have stood out. I can't understand why anyone with a Joe Cockerish voice would pick a Marvin Gaye song, what a ****ing moron. "Letter" was an okay performance but agree with Simon it was corny. So many just mediocre performances. I have low ass expectations for this show and unless people start making songs unique this season will be abysmal. Also a gigantic LOL at having a teen pop star as a mentor for these people, are you ****ing kidding me? Maybe she's to blame for all these ****ty performances.

Crystal gave the best performance of the season by a WIDE margin.

If I have to hear Micheal sing another love ballad I am going to puke.

Miley was not near a horrid as I imagined her to be. Granted the bar in my mind was REALLY low. Her music is still the sonic equivalent of fingers on a chalkboard, but at least she is not a moron.

i disagree. the fact that she was boring and forgettable every week means Simon isn't going to remember her.


Also, Simon not knowing the names of the ppl here is funny. He's not Ryan, he doesn't have to know everything about them, just critique their performances.

Ryan Seacrist needs to host more things, his ability to improve nicely on live TV and to be overall likable and interesting is a good trait, especially dealing with Simons douchebagness.

Cmon now. *I* know their names and spend a few hours a week watching or talking about the show. Simon puts more hours in than me. I hope.

I'm sure all of us have had to do a "oh...what's-her-name" at some time in our lives when talking about someone whose name we obviously knew. It happens. Plus Simon's aloofness is part of his charm.

Jesus this week sucked. Even Siobhan was kinda meh. Even though Paige was awful this week she's still about 289513x more talented than Tim, so I really hope it's the latter who gets axed. Not that it really matters much at all.

I don't think Casey can be successful without winning AI. He's got a good enough voice and has the look but lacks something. He's got some charisma. Not enough. Not much swagger. Only marginally confident. Same goes for Lee except he's worse at everything.
