i've been surprised by a few of the results shows thus far so i'm not sure at all what's gonna happen anymore.

Casey, Alex, Michael and Lee are locks for the final 12 IMO. I don't get the love for Lee but the women folk love his style of voice (my wife loves him). I thought Andrew was a lock too until his performance yesterday.

I hope Tim and Aaron go home.

I predicted all 4 that went home last week. This week is a lot harder.

1 lock to go is Paige. Todrick seems like a semi-lock to go home. After that it's hazy. Katie or Katelyn seem most likely in danger for the girls. The guys are anyone's guess. Alex or Tim seem most likely for the other guy. I would love to see Aaron go, but I think he has the teenie-bopper vote that will probably carry him. Andrew and Lee are in semi-danger.

My picks: Paige, Todrick, Katie, Tim

There's never a lock to go on this show. There's always a chance Paige gets saved by the sympathy vote. Or VFTW for that matter.

Casey is my favorite male and it's not even close. He's no Chris Daughtry, but no one has hammered my muscial preference as well as Casey since Chris. Sure he's getting points from me because he is cute and because he frickin' kills the guitar, but if an AI contestant wants me in their corner (not that it matters because I never vote) it's all about the song choices and musical style for me. Are they going to make music that I want to listen to? Casey...yes. Crystal...yes. Can I appreciate the singing ability and performances of Siobhan and Michael? Absolutely. Am I going to buy their CDs? NO. Do I actually prefer Lilly Scott and Lee Dewyze to Siobahn and Mike even though I don't think their singing ability is as good? Yes, though it's probably close on Lilly and Siobhan.

If it was up to me based on the 3 weeks collectively and weighting these most recent performances (based on song selection and the amount of growth or lack thereof) along with just overall ability: Aaron and Todrick go home. Katie and Paige go home.

If I had to pick a final four that I would like to see right this minute: Crystal, Casey, Lee/Mike, Lilly/Siobahn. I lean towards Lee and Lilly right now, but I imagine in the coming weeks I'll get those other two spots nailed down better.

i think lee has more of that daughtry feel to him than casey does fwiw. i still like lee a lot and do not want to see him go home tonight.

I'm not all about the heavier rock. I also really enjoy blues, southern rock, and country as well. Who hits all of that better?

And yes, the actual singing does play a role.

Still not enough to be close to singing halfway decent, but he improved!

Anyway, Michael was remarkable and the rest of the dudes was a total scrubfest. Michael is probably the best one on the entire show and if he keeps giving performances like this he'll enter GOAT discussions.

Listen, I think all songs are fair game, but you really shouldn't touch a Leonard Cohen song with that much soul and depth if you're some 16 year old heartthrob kid. It's just nonsense. Castro did an admirable job with it, but that's just because he did it well vocally and even Castro probably didn't even know much of the song until someone told him to do because it suited his voice.

There's some songs teenager kids on Idol just shouldn't do. Hallelujah is absolutely one of them.

Yeah I guess I'm overreacting because everyone else is so bad and because he's (imo) one of the more likable 'good' contestants AI has had in a while. But you're right, he's probably not in that conversation.

That said, anyone saying he isn't very good is kinda ludicrous in itself. He's an excellent singer and performer. He's I'd think a lock for top 6 or 4 at this point
