Wow the judges are beyond stupid. They literally have no clue at all.

The guys all suck. Who cares who goes home. They should all go home.

Mike was ok but SOOOOOOO boring.

i thought tim did a good job actually. not the best performance of the night by any means, but i'll be very surprised if he's not in the top 12. but none of it really matters anyways because it's definitely between crystal and siobhan this year imo.

Not an andrew fan by any means, but some of you don't wager on idol enough to know that there is a 0% chance of Andrew going home tomorrow. None, zip, nada. It just won't happen in this universe. Going home at this stage of the competition is never based solely on the one performance you are voting for. For whatever reason he developed a solid fan base early, and no favorite has ever gone out before top 12. I'd love to see it happen, but it never will......

And if one more person tries to tell me Alex sings well, then we'll just have to majorly disagree. I don't like anything about his nasaly voice, his stupid bowl cut hair, his deer in a headlights look, his butchering of a great ray song....nothing appeals to me about this guy....i don't understand any of the love for him. get off my goddamn tv screen alex.

todrick is for sure going home, take your pick of lee, tim, or aaron going with him......also if it is lee, watch for idol to give subtle hints about some major shocker happening tonight as if he ever really had a shot. they like that word shocker when it never is.

I think the key to watching Alex is to not watch him. If you are just listening it is a totally different experience.

I guess it was last week when I was confused at the judges praise from the week before, so i just listened and didn't look at the tv and it came across a lot better.

He definitely has unique sound to his voice. I'm not a big fan like the judges but I think I figured out why they like him so much. With that said, I'm not sure if he can hold it together when the song choice is more limited.

I hope Lee doesn't go home. He screws up a couple times every song, but I like his voice and I'd rather see Todrick, Tim, Alex, Aaron go before him.

to be fair, you compare her stuff to anyone on Idol, ever, and the Idol contestants will look very bad.

K.D Lang is an amazing singer.

A huge huge double u tee eff at the judges.

Kara, really!!??!, I know you're coocoo and all, but please keep your **** together. I felt so embarassed at the end.
Also Ellen running out to hug Tim. WAT?

Oh, right performances, meh. I didn't feel big Mike, honestly. It felt self indulging rather than honest.

Lee and Tim both got pretty lucky by everyone sucking so the each have a shot at making it another week which is ridiculous. Bye Andrew. Nice choke job.

The guys were better tonight than I thought they'd be. Not really a horrible performance in the bunch. My rankings:

Michael - not really my style of music, but I have to admit he slayed it. A

Alex - This kid is getting better and better. I really liked that performance. Great, unique vocals. B+

Casey - Great vocals and stage presence, but a forgettable song. B

Toddrick - Takes balls to do Freddie. The arrangement helped, but like Simon said, he's a Broadway performer. B

Tim - Better than I thought he was going to do, but also forgettable. B-

Andrew - Interesting voice coupled with horrible song choices. One trick pony? C+

Lee - Horrible song, okay vocals. Meh. C+

Aaron - Wasn't bad, wasn't good...another meh. C

f'in garcia needs to throw a plaid shirt and baseball fitted on... and just try and kill a song. like his audition, he didn't change the song up much... but added a little bit of his vibe.

i think the judges confused him w/ the need a big surprise immed. that song choice was surprising as hell but it didn't work too well (except for the end) b/c it really made it look like he was trying too hard.

he's obv not a favorite to win anymore, but id be really amazed if he gets sent him home before top 12

This. I mean people always talk about Straight up like that's the only type of thing he can do. But go back to his audition. Dude can sing, he killed that Sunday Morning song and it was one of the best auditions of the season. Like they said..it was a really hard song to sing in that atmosphere and he pulled it off "very excellent" as Randy said. He also sang Adele - Chasing pavements really well in Hollywood week.

I mean you def. gotta give it to him just for being brave enough to make such a friggin bold song choice. Judges always talk about how "no one will remember that performance" well whether they liked it or not anyone who watched idol is gonna remember that a dude sang genie in a bottle by christina aguilera. That said I kinda disagree with the judges saying it was a good song choice. I mean, there's soooo many songs he could have picked to make a WOW-ing performance out of that were better than this. When I glanced over the song list right when Idol started I was just like...wat, why???

IMO he could have just done something like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-8nkkOA_AM (Outkast - Hey Ya Acoustic cover) which is something that suits him well and is definitely in his vocal range to knock right out of the park. Something like this would have given him like a 95% success rate on a good - great performance and is something that would capture a "moment" from the first note.

Shorten the arrangement and add the chorus outro and bam you have an epic performance and you're a lock for the top 12 and once again a favorite to win. Instead you go with such an out there song like Genie in a bottle which just simply has too much of a chance of being a miss. So in conclusion, props for a bold and brave song choice but it was a bad song choice. Also with the straight up performance you got a real tasteful and classy vibe from it. You watch it and you're like damn that's dope. Everything from the idea to the arrangement to the vocal. Definitely don't get that vibe with genie in a bottle...like damn dude, wtf why christina aguilera?! If he was gonna do some crazy **** like that at least go with someone current. Sigh...the only reason I watched the show this year was cause of this dude tbh but it looks like my idol days are numbered.

I don't know man. You sound like you know your stuff and I want to believe you, I really really do. And I am an Andrew fan. But there's 2 ppl that have to go home, and no one got a worse overall critique tonight than Andrew. I realize Andrew was the odds on favorite to win the competition before top 24 when the Vegas odds were released and he had gigantic hype and anticipation coming into the live shows.

But really how big is his fanbase in the grand scheme of things? Most of his fan base is twitter, youtube, intraweb savvy kids etc. Sure some are die hard voting 500 times but I don't know how much they really count for when it comes down to it. Also remember it was a close call for him last week in the bottom with Jermaine. I guess TPTB might have had something to do with that but that still seems pretty far fetched. If you look at Diaidol.com http://www.dialidol.com/asp/predicti...mbers&season=9 Andrew has the lowest total for "Raw Numbers" and the second lowest for "Busy Percentages". They've been pretty accurate so far in the competition.

I really hope you're right... but it's just not looking good for him tmrw imo.

ETA: You say no fav. has ever gone out before the top 12 but has anyone in the past AI's ever coasted to the top 12 SOLELY based on Hollywood week performances/hype? In terms of judging, which obv has a pretty big influence on votes, he's 0/3 in picking songs so far. His true fans for the most part are definitely sticking with him, but it just seems like the general AI fan who was like "hey I like this guy" would have lost more and more interest each week, and by tonight's performance it's almost like a 3rd strike for getting another bad critique from the judges. Almost like the avg AI fan is done giving him chances to wow them. I dunno...hope he gets in there tho.

Damn you really think Lacey is going home? Shouldn't the first singing spot plus getting owned by the judges = GG for Katie?

Nah, Katie is safe I think. Lacey is the one I'm most sure about after Paige.

Why tho? Do you rly think she has that big of a fanbase? She had 3 lackluster performances. It's actually kinda ironic when you think that abt how the girl and guy (Andrew) who got the pimp spot week 1 have - at least in the eyes of the judges - missed on all of their performances.

Because Lacey, Didi, and Lily all sound somewhat the same and I can't see them all getting enough votes. Katie is a much different type of singer than the other girls and people who listen to more of that kind of thing will vote for her (for now).

sigh...why the **** did dude have to sing genie in a bottle. Even a 'safe' song would have probably got him through this week.

Casey had a few moments in his performance that he sounded like Bob Seger which was the highlight of the night for me.

I've never heard the song done by Mike, and the biggest impression I got from that was how weird the high notes at the beginning and end were.

One of the judges made comments on Aaron's being natural on stage or on his good stage presence or something like that. THE DUDE LOOKS LIKE RAIN MAN WHEN HE NEEDS TO POOP REALLY BAD AND THE WIND IS BLOWING HARD UP THERE WTF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!

i was a huge aaron kelly fan a few weeks ago, but it does seem like he isn't really gaining any ground. he's got a good voice but i'm not sure he's going to be around much longer if he makes it through this week. i'm really indifferent to all the guys aorn. i dunno, they just don't have that wow factor to me like crystal and siobhan do.

I think Aaron survives for the same reason Katie survives, there are a lot of 16 year old voters. I like your girl picks to go, but I think Todrick and Andrew are the guys in trouble.
