Random seems like a stretch. I don't think they would put someone who got universal praise HU with someone who sucked.

maybe not next lowest votes, but someone whose critiques at least make it suspenseful

he's better than most of the guys, and he COULD win, I just think there are 3 or 4 girls that are so much better than the guys that talking about a guy winner is moot


so in conclusion.

Andrew COULD win, but I don't think he will because of his looks, and frankly, he has been just average for awhile.

If he can wow me, then maybe I'll give him more love.

By all accounts he's going for something huge next week. The type of performance you thought he was holding back til top 10 or so he's bringing out now cause he knows he has too esp. after his last mediocre performance and the close call with elimination. TBH tho I don't think his looks have that big a factor on him winning as you think. I think someone like Aaron Kelly would have absolutely no chance at all winning idol and he'd be one of those ppl I'd put at 0% and it's due to his appearance.

I hate using this word but Andrew has "swag" if you will, which imo makes up for what you see as his lack of a marketable appearance. He knows how to carry himself + has personality while maintaining a genuine humbleness, contrast that to someone like Aaron who looks like a socially awkward nerd who's always looking timid and possesses 0 confidence. Plus you're forgetting how giant of a fanbase Andrew has and how invested his fans are in him (voting 1k times etc.) After next wednesday he'll be the frontrunner in the competition again, book it.

I think Andrew is one of the better guys left, but I think all 8 guys left are anywhere from average to awful compared to the girls

after what i have heard about him, how he's holding back and going to GO for it wednesday, i hope its awful

first things first - i definitely retract my comment about being a better singer than big mike. i was stunned at how good his performance was. but it's indeed like simon said, he went from a pussycat to a lion overnight.

second - oh my god i love siobhan so much. her performance was sick. the video clip was awesome. i love her performances, her personality i find so interesting, and yes i've still been listening to wicked game on repeat this week. i'm glad she's getting love. i figured she'd have no chance of going far because she's too weird and quirky (even though that makes me like her even more) but other people seem to be drawn to her as well and her singing talent is undeniable - i was so happy when she got the far and away biggest applause after performing.

My 2nd favorite girl was Katelyn - i totally agree with what a few people have said- this was incredible i thought, a haunting performance. really WTF @ randy and ellen saying it was too slow.

agree with crystal being talented, but i hate her.

i really like lily scott but i have to say that i just didn't get it with her performance - i didn't like it.

i went into this week thinking (and still pretty much do) that paige is completely boring/forgettable, but i thought her performance was pretty good...guess no one else did though.


with the guys...i've agreed with most everything that TheHip except with regard to Lee Dewyze. I think he's been the most consistently good of the guys. I'm still a garcia fan though and just wish he'd pick a better song. for the non-believers who aren't even impressed by his straight-up, i suggest going to youtube and searching him, like the 5th hit will be a michael jackson medley with some chick singing the opening...but him singing "i want you back" is INCREDIBLE.

Essentially the elimination shows are the worst performers singing again. These prelim rounds really are torture. Later on, the ppl who get cut might be worth listening to a second time.

you could go with the conspiracy theory that tptb put the person who they want to go long in the hot seat with the eliminated contestant in an effort to motivate the fans to vote for him. they've pimped andrew a lot this year and, maybe, his results have been so-so. by putting him in "danger" they might get his vote totals rising a little.
