Tonight definitely made the girls look a lot better, since at least most of them seemed to command the stage and had good voices. The girls also have way more correctable mistakes than most of the guys imo, I expect the gap to really widen next week.

just watched the guys ep.

i've been a big casey james fan since hollywood but i didn't think this performance was all that great. it was solid and safe but he hardly taxed himself.

garcia was an incredible letdown of course. simon said exactly what everyone was thinking.

i thought john was pretty good, and the young kid has a lot of potential. everyone else blows.

i have not seen a single performance on either of these nights that i like a tenth as much as garcia's first audition/garcia hollywood/didi hollywood/casey hollywood.

other things :

- it's a f'ing joke how blatant they are in giving the pimp performance spots away.
- tebow's girl looked super hot in that 'tim urban gets to hollywood!' clip.
- i agree katie stevens is not attractive. i want to find her hot but i just can't. she seems to have an enormous perfectly square head.

I think fans of this show are in for a long, long season.

Lee Dewyze is gonna go further than a lot of people think. Aaron Kelly can sing but he looks annoying. Tim Urban was AWESOMELY bad. Garcia is naturally way overrated after he crushed it with the Abdul performance. It will take like 3 weeks for people to get sick of him singing every song like it's about the death of his mother or something.

This season sucks and a big part of it is because of song selection. Trying to think of some of the guys from recent years who picked songs that were perfect fits. Even if someone is annoying or not a great singer, it can still be great when they stick to their guns and go with what they know.

Song selection is one of the things that always gets better. People are way overreacting to one week if they think it's going to be like this for the whole season.

Archuleta's one person who understood song fit very well and right away. But, he seems to be the exception.

Garcia is just one of those people that a lot of 2+2 isn't going to like. He's still a near lock for the top 5. I imagine the David Archuleta sentiment was similar a couple years ago.

I'm giving it one, maybe two more weeks, but I'm about ready to bail on this show. Shaping up to be a terrible season unfortunately.

I imagine most 2+2ers aren't huge fans of the type of music Garcia does.

I think there was something wrong with the audio setup the last two nights. I watched one ep at my house and one at a friends and both were horrible. Granted, everyone pretty much gave bad performances, but there was also some real problems with audio levels, uptake etc.

I think the audio's always worse in the small studio.

ya super bad audio, i found myself constantly adjusting the volume (most of the performances were way too quiet, but it was pretty erratic throughout)

this is what I was thinking also after watching last 2 nights. This is the first season I've ever actually watched all episodes but it seems pretty terrible so far with a few good people

I mean they have like all these tryouts across the USA and all these eliminations, you would assume out of all those people the 24 that make it this far would all just be really amazing but somehow that isnt the case. I wonder why that is

everyone is saying, omg the girls were so bad, when in reality, the girls, 10 out of 12 were solid. Nothing amazing, I guess Siobhan's was as close to great as it came, but there was nothing bad about 10 of the performances.


Also, it's their first show live, in front of 30 million people, give them a break.


Once it gets to top 16, or top 12, this show will be great like it always is.

I think people just forgot how bad these top 12 shows can be since last year they didn't even have them.
