idk how i slept on this show for the 8 previous seasons, glad i randomly turned on the tv when the first epsiode of hollywood week was on

no chance, she's like that little black girl from season 5, just not as good. can't remember her name right now, and don't feel like looking it up. she sang midnight train to georgia at some point.

There are at least 5 girls way better than her right now.

Tasha all the way!

0% Bowersox wins. Willing to lay 5:1. She's just too ugly. It's not the way it should be, but it's the way it is.

I'm still a believer in Janell Wheeler, even after her bad performance. Didi and Bowersox are also really good but not sure if their style can win. Janell is the whole package imo.

For some reason I hate Andrew Garcia. Probably because he's basically doing exactly what Kris did in terms of taking some famous old song and turning it into a wussy, generic coffee-house rendition of it for no reason other than for the judges to slobber over him for his "originality".

seriously, his version of Straight Up was better than 90% of the performances from the top 24 on from last year.

literally a horrible post
i got that messed up. it was his hollywood auditon that was very good not his initial. his initial was blah but of course they needed to fill their niche. --and one must not forget, his parents were LA gangbangers what a fantastic story -wowzer!!

even still, not all that impressed. too many women with outstanding voices this year. the men usually suck anyway except for guys like adam lambert. that casey james dude blows the mexican away imo.

I thought it was a mistake to leave out the Terrets gal. She was cute, OK Voice. Even Simon thought it was a mistake.

Yeah, I agree with this. Not only can she sing, but she obviously has the looks to help her, and from what I can tell, can actually perform which others lack.

Apparently I went to HS with her, but she was a freshman when I was a senior and I just don't remember her at all. According to google, she is dating Tim Tebow, which if I was a participating voter I would against her.

Paris Bennett. But, not being as good as Paris Bennett isn't really a bad thing.

I hate to break it to you, but that type of music is incredibly popular currently. Garcia's been pretty popular doing his stuff on Youtube even before AI.

Assuming they both make it through tonight, I think Andrew Garcia and Katie Stevens are the favorites unless they haven't shown us someone incredibly good yet.

I'm not saying Garcia is a lock to win, but not making the top 24 is just lol bad

It would be hard to find 24 people over 9 seasons that deserve to be in the top 24 more than him.

Yeah, I'm not denying its popularity or saying Garcia won't win. I just think he/it sucks.

Garcia's biggest obstacle is his terrible hipster look and not being a super hunk like Kris Allen, which is probably what will keep him from winning.

Wow, really not getting the Garcia hate, and I really hate generic dbags. Dude seems pretty cool on all fronts to me, and everything we have seen from him has been awesome.

I'm worried that that Lee Deweyze kid could be this year's Gokey, making it way, way farther than he ever should because he's decent looking and sounds like Nickelback.

I don't hate Garcia as a person, just don't like him that much as a musician. I don't get why he gets points for originality when it seems like everyone and their mother is flipping popular songs into bland acoustic versions these days.

Respect the opinion, but definitely did not find the rendition of "Straight Up" to be bland at all. I'm probably bias though as I listen to some Jarson Mraz/Justin Nozuka type stuff.

Yeah I'm not a big fan of that stuff obviously. My main issue is I think the judges are too quick to reward people for "making a song their own". Lambert last year showed how you can do it to show your versatility or do a new version of a familiar song, but I always felt like Kris was just doing it because he can't sing any other kind of song. Garcia's "Straight Up" felt the same way to me.

They want people to stand out. They get the same people to sing the same Mary J Blige and Celine Dion songs over and over again. All that proves is that you're a good karaoke singer. Singing John Mayer-type stuff is way harder and gives you a lot better idea of who is a great singer.

Yeah we definitely just have an opinion difference here. I'm pretty sure I'm in the minority when I say I thought Lambert was generic, cliche, over-the-top, whiny, screamy, and borderline intolerable. I didn't even think dude's voice was that great to be honest.

Totally agree with this. I've got nothing against Garcia and he definitely has talent, but I hate when they overrate people based on perceived originality when, 9 times out of 10, they're just covering an existing cover that the judges just haven't heard before. David Cook did this all the time a couple years ago, particularly with his super-genious unique original version of Billie Jean, which it turned out was an almost note-for-note cover of a version done by Chris Cornell. For everyone drooling over Garcia's Straight Up, go to YouTube and search for "Straight Up Acoustic" to see how original it really is.

Dude, that girl is sooooooo good. I mean she owns the stage (I'm not saying you're wrong meaning she won't get as much love because she isn't a model type). BUT, if she makes the final 24 and you think she's 2x better than everyone else you should still offer like 12-1 right?

Having said all that I'd CONSIDER making a small wager, with proper odds, that she'll makae the final 3.

What kind of odds are you looking for? I 100% agree she is one of the top 3 best we've seen, but I just can't see her and her ugly grill getting that far once the fan voting starts given how hideous she is.
