I wish Casey good luck because I thought both of his songs were very well done.
Crystal had a 'moment' yesterday but her first song fell flat.
Lee was just alright for me, it's hard to give him full props for 'Hallelujah' because KD Lang just owned that song in the 2010 Olympics.
They've always been biased with their judging, but I felt last night took it to another level. They praised Crystal for always sticking to her roots, while berating Casey for picking an unpopular song that he said matches his style perfectly even though he sang it pretty well. And the judges song choices were horrendous. I thought Simon's choice, and having Lee close the show, was set up perfectly for him to move on, but poor Casey got the shaft w/ his song. Like Simon said, there was no climax to it and there is really no way to make that song memorable. I also didn't really understand giving Crystal that Beatles song. It didn't really feel right at all. They should've given her a song that shows her at her best with her guitar.
Personally speaking I think that the producers of the show realize that Lee will probably be the most successful after the show. I know a lot of you disagree with that, but his style of singing is very similar to a lot of the stuff they play on the radio today. I also don't see Crystal as being very marketable as talented as she is. Her whole "look" is very off putting to me and I don't see how her musical style will be popular. Casey keeps ignoring the judges request to pick more popular songs and keeps choosing unknown songs that he likes instead. The judges clearly don't want a repeat of Taylor Hicks, who basically went rogue after the show and wanted to record his own style of music as opposed to making a more poppy album.
That being said, I'm really pushing for Lee. He's been killing it week in, week out.
