It depends on what you were naming.

You were 3 for 4 or 4 for 4 on who should go home, but 0/4 on how America voted. I stopped trying to guess on how a nation full of teeny-bopper texters are going to collectively vote.

How does idol determine who stands next to the loser? I've heard it's not the 2nd lowest votes, so is it random?

Why I ask, is what effect does this have on the person who doesn't go home.

1. Do they get a bump in votes next week because their fans think they need more help to stay?

or

2. Do they get a decrease in votes the next week because people think their favourite might not be as good as they thought, so they give up and vote someone else.


I guess what I am getting at is do you think the producers manipulate this so that voters will vote more?? or less? the "next" week for the singer who appeared to be on the verge of going home?

if this was my first time watching AI from the start to the top 12, I would have been shocked by this episode. Since I have watched this show a lot, I know how it goes.


It's not all about singing or looks, there is also the demographic to worry about.


Lilly can't win because she's a 2nd rate crystal

Seriously, there are some major leaks in the top 12.

Tim, Lacey and Paige are all garbage and don't deserve it over Alex, Katelyn or Lilly.

but, being the only black female left, she is going to make the top 12 no matter how badly she does. If you think that's racist, go back and listen to Paige's performance. Arguably the worst performance of the year (tim's first one was that bad as well)


I think that Alex and Katelyn, if they survived this round, could have made the top 5-6. Lilly was doomed from the start because of Crystal.

In years past near the end they'd have "the bottom two". i just assume that is how they still do it.

If nervous boy would have sang the way he did on his exit song he'd still be in.

For people who say Garcia should be gone I don't think are thinking it through. I mean the dude is flat imaginative and can sing. Sure his votes went down when he got hi on lysol and did that last song. But everyone is still voting on straight up.

Todrick is a good singer and seems like a very likable guy. I think his fate was sealed when Simon tipped his hand (or whatever that phrase is called) when he said something like "you sing good but I see you on broadway". That gave all the people on the fence about him a way to not vote for him.

I can't really focus on the girls because its easily Crystal, that other weird gril, then the others. It is that simple isn't it? I mean Didi is good in her own way. The girl who looks like Pat Benatar is probably better. But they're still a distant 3rd and 4th right?

If Garcia kicks it in gear it will be him, Crystal, weird girl, Daughtry's little brother. Tall skinny cooly guy will go out one week before Big Mike.

Noone here really thinks people are voting on the song they sang that week right?

nope. but as I addressed in my post a few up from this, it's hardly newsbreaking for Idol.

Remember in season 3, Jennifer Hudson was eliminated 6th? why? because there were 4 awesome black girl singers left, so the votes only split so far before the bad white girl singer gets more than you.


Remember in season 5, when you have Daughtry, who might have the best male voice in the history of the show, was eliminated 4th. Was it because he was bad? Nope.

The one that should have went home was the only girl left. So basically Elloit had the night of his life, and stole Chris' votes, and chris was gone.



So tonight, while it looks strange, really isn't. Lilly lost because Crystal, Alex lost because Tim had a good performance for him, and Katelyn is out because Didi did well, and Katie is getting the young vote. Toddrick sucks so no biggie there.


The real point here is this, of the 4 people eliminated, only 1 had a chance of making a run for the title, and that's Alex, but he was so shy/nervous, I doubt he'd win.

It's still a 3 person race, and unless Casey/Andrew step it up, it will stay that way. I have no doubt that Aaron, Tim, Lee, Paige, Lacey, and Katie will be gone 12th through 7th, then the show starts for real.

Whaaat? Alex was probably my favorite of the guys, and I thought his exit performance was sooooooo depressing! I will forever love his voice, but there wasn't any effort in it, I thought. I thought he sounded way better yesterday.

I guess I'm kind of surprised by all of this. I thought Paige was 110% going to go, aside from MAYBE the black-vote or whatever, but I just figured she was so bad that people couldn't bear to vote for her in good conscience, lol. I figured Epperly might be going home, but she was probably my favorite girl for whatever reason.... I think just b/c of the Scientist performance last week.

Sigh. I feel bummed out by the results. Well, just those two. Don't really care for Todrick, and while I like Lily's voice, never really paid attention to either really like or dislike her.

Yeah I thought Alex and Katelyn were just trying to keep it together in their exit performance's. Lilly looked uncomfortable without her guitar, not knowing what to do with her other hand. Todrick was the only one who went out with a bang and was better than he was last night.

yes shocking, shocking results that the chaff went out this week instead of the next 3 weeks. Paige Tim Aaron and probably Lacey are almost guaranteed to be the next in the next 4 eliminations. The handwringing over Alex "feathered mullet" Lambert (or Alex "ridiculously unfortunate last name" Lambert) is ******ed the kid had no chance of going deep.

Blake came in 2nd, Elliot came in 3rd, Jordin won, Taylor won, crazy stuff happens on idol sometimes. The fact she can sing really well, and is the best overall musician left is nothing to sneeze at.

She's basically a female/hippie version of David Cook, and Cook ran away with it in the last 6-7 weeks.
