I just don't see Kristen winning this thing

This. wtf simon. i think simon just doesn't like really dark stuff, because he gave similar sentiments about her wicked game performance.


crystal still really rubs me the wrong way, but i have to admit her performance was really good.

did was good - it's true she can't do much more than that, but she was probably the 3rd best girl tonight.

i like katelyn but i can see why people might feel like she just falls flat. not sure it was the right song choice - i personally liked it though, was very raw and i like that.

i really liked lily scott in holywood week but i have to say i'm liking her less and less - personality wise she's cool enough but i just dont get her performances lately, not sure why the judges praise her so much. i honestly think they don't get it either since they just rush through their comments.

paige was horrrrible, i hope she goes.

i feel really bad for katie - i feel like she's gotten way more criticism and less credit than she deserves. i also thought she was really eloquent in answering ryan's questions in the post-performance interview thing.

Rewatching I liked Siobhan the best (surprise!) but stand behind my other opinions except maybe Katelyn was worse. But still didn't love Didi.

Have they been too harsh on her? I don't see it. Getting reasonable criticism imo. Her problem is just lack of star power. I don't think she's been bad any of the 3 weeks... but kinda ho-hum.

I see a lot of people say the judges have an agenda... why don't the producers just eliminate whoever they want every week? Is there some kind of check that the votes aren't rigged?

Gah...hate that Katelynn gets so little love. She is my favorite. Can't argue with Crystal being the best though.

It wasn't an "enthusiastic" performance, but other than that, it was quite good. She sings pretty damn well and she ain't sore on the eyes.

Personally I hope she makes the merge, bc if she does, she will be around for quite awhile bc she is better than all the guys

The judges are obviously pimping Crystal, because while that performance was very good, it was one she should've sang well - it was right in her wheel house. Siobhan was revelatory and I think that version of House of the Rising Sun could be playing on the radio today. The arrangement Didi did with Rihannon was also fantastic...

Siobhan - just perfect in every way. Her tone and control were fantastic and she knows how to perform. This is a real singer.

Didi - While Crystal is obviously a better singer, Didi's performance was bold, risky and she changed the song enough to make it relevant for today. I could also hear this one on the radio right now.

Crystal - Great vocal on a meh song...it was sort of a copycat of the Tracy Chapman version - but well done, nonetheless.

The above three were all great.

Lacey - perfect song choice for her...not sure what else she could possible do - I was waiting for her to blast it at the end just like Brandi Carlisle does, but I don't think she has the pipes to do so.

Lacey was better than average but not quite great.

Lily - Decent performance on a horrible song choice. Either stick to how it's supposed to sound or change it up completely...she did neither. Lily was average, just a little better than the two below her.

Katelyn - Bad song choice and she was off just a little through the whole song.

Katie - This is a little girl playing dress up. She can sing, but with this song she was flat throughout. Time to go home.

The above two were both "meh."

Paige - Yikes, that was awful. I did learn that Charlie Chaplin apparently wrote "Smile," though, so it wasn't a total loss.

Probably going home: Paige and Katelyn. I also feel Lilly and Lacey are in danger, as they don't really have a fan base, and Didi knocked it out of the park for those who like these type of singers.

Katelyn is one of my favorites for the girls. I thought she was pretty bad yesterday though - I thought she looked way more corny yesterday standing and playing than she did last week with The Scientist. I agree with the judges where it didn't seem like she was trying all that hard yesterday, but I guess she said she was trying to just do her thing.

I agree with the poster who said Katie was eloquent in answering the questions after her performance. I mean, the kid is 17, just got slammed, and then has to answer a bunch of questions. But that gives her points in my book - not like Didi last week who got slammed and became a mute. I really hated that.

Crystal is cocky. When Kara was all excited saying something like, "I can SEE your record and THAT excites me!" Crystals response of, "Yay," in that flat, monotone voice made me wanna punch her face. I get that she is one of the best, but at least SHOW some graciousness! I just hate the too-cool-for-school attitude.

So...Paige goes, and then I am really unsure whether it will be Katie or Katelyn. Yesterday I was convinced it was Katelyn and Paige, and that Katie would get the young girls' votes.

First, she is too cool for Idol, but she realizes it is one way into the industry.

Second, she is obviously having medical issues related to her Diabetes which is why she instantly sat down at the end of her song. This is also probably why she acted this way.

In the end it's pretty clear she does not care at all about he reality show side of it which is cool with me. She is never going to care about that side of the show, so it's best to accept that now.

Oh, trust me, I understand her "type." She is one of those hippies that laughs and mocks reality tv and American Idol. She probably bathes less tha most girls, doesn't brush her teeth properly, etc. I get that. My issue with this, is the whole, "Don't bite the hand that feeds you," thing. If she is bright enough to realize that this is her way in, then treat it accordingly.

If I was being interviewed for a job in my career path right after graduating University, I'd at least feign interest, even if I know that it's "just" a stepping stone to something bigger. If I was asked, "So what do you think about this opportunity? I think you are WONDERFUL for this position!!!" I wouldn't say, "Mehhh."

Also, I had no issue with the sitting down thing. I didn't even realize she sat and was "obviously" experiencing medical issues related to the diabetes.

i agree, kristen gonna really need to step it up.


disappointed at seeing all the crystal hate, i think it's just people piling on the frontrunner, trying to chop out the legs of the guy on top.

After listening to everything again, Siobhan was better than I thought, and so was Didi. Didi is ready for radio already IMO, and as long as she keeps her guitar she will do fine. Also, she is so beautiful and extremely likable.


Crystal seems to get boring. I look forward to new Siobhan performances, but not so much Crystal.

I didn't read much into Crystal sitting down. There was an amp right there, might as well sit down.

Didi absolutely blew me away this week, I barely took notice of her before. I think her problem is that she can absolutely crush kind of off beat acoustic pleasant pop songs but her wheel house is so limited it will just get repetitive and when she ventures outside her wheel house the quality will go down.

Gonna be an epic and cluth performance tonight. Might do this imo.
