I disagree. She speaks like Ross on Friends did. Very correctly and spaces out each syllable.


She seems really smart.


However, she does seem pop culture dumb, like not knowing what a dark horse was.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan but I thought her performance was pretty damn good.

Top 3 for me- Crystal, Siobhan, Lilly

Didi and Lacey are both incredibly beautiful, imo. I prefer both to Barbi Doll Janelle.

After listening to some of the performances again, I think the best performances of the night were (in no order)


Katelyn Epperly
Crystal Bowersox
Siobhan Magnus
Lilly Scott


I think Siobhan Magnus has the most powerful voice, and I think she will only get better as the season goes on. Crystal Bowersox is good, but I still don't really like her. Katelyn Epperly's performance was amazing. Lilly Scott also did very well.


I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to hear Lilly Scott sing 'Cry Baby'.

Casey can't and wont win, he cant sing.

Okay, in what way does she seem smart? Maybe I've missed some clips or something somewhere, as I was basing most of my opinion on yesterday's clip. I actually forgot that she was the "what's a dark horse (in slow voice)?" girl. If you mean artistically smart, then maybe. Not that I know what that means, exactly...

Of my friends, I am probably the least caught up with pop culture, and I'm pretty sure I've known what a dark horse was since the age of 12. AND English is my 2/3rd language.

When Ross spoke like that, he seemed like a nerd/dork. When she speaks like that, I just find it seems slow/dumb.

Having said all this, I actually really like her and loved both of her performances so far. I hope she does well.

Oh, I just didn't picture someone like her (I think of her as a weird emo/hipster kid) singing some big ol' black lady's song. I'm not saying it didn't sound perfect/near perfect. I'm also not saying the song didn't provide opportunity for her to show her abilities/talent. Just that it was strange/odd.

i haven't seen any indications that siobhan is intelligent. i also am not yet ready to declare her completely ******ed. i do think she is likely awful in social situations; you could almost hear everyone in the studio cringing when she interrupted the judges with that ridiculous slow anecdote. having said that i'm sure most people in this thread inc myself would blow when put on tv in front of 30m people.

Not that her anecdote was super revealing or interesting, but I was impressed that she was able to offer an on the fly insight into her singing progression. Moreover, she seemed very at ease interrupting the judges as if she were casually chatting with a friend and not on tv in front of millions of people.

I'm socially inept in front of large groups so I guess it's the small things that catch my eye.

Singing a song that Adam Lambert pretty much owned last year is a death sentence for a contestant, because it automatically invites the comparison and no one will ever give it the same level of justice.

From reading both this and the Lost threads, I'd say that TheHip41 uses hyperbole in a great percentage of his posts. It makes it tough to take things he says seriously imo. Everytime he disagrees with someone its always "You're so bad at watching tv, I'm clearly 100% correct here!" If he would tone it down a bit, he'd be a much better poster imo because he does have good insight overall.
