Bowersox is interesting. I actually think her nasty teeth etc will endear her to the voters, since it gives her the average single mom vibe.

David Cook did this all the time a couple years ago, particularly with his super-genious unique original version of Billie Jean, which it turned out was an almost note-for-note cover of a version done by Chris Cornell. For everyone drooling over Garcia's Straight Up, go to YouTube and search for "Straight Up Acoustic" to see how original it really is.
He already has done every song he's sang so far before, they're on youtube.

I suggest to anyone that hasn't searched Garcia on Youtube to do so. There's a girl he does some of those videos with that's pretty cool as well. There's a Kanye West song that's pretty cool too.

uh, what?

I still think Garcia/Stevens have to be two of the favorites. Jermaine Sellers is probably the second best guy, I think.

I mean, do you really think this is easier to sing than this??

The latter is so much more musically logical. It's really not even close.

"No Surprises" was an "interesting" choice of song for the montage towards the beginning of telling people no.

Pretty weird thing to say. Let me be clear. Which of these two groups is harder to legitimately sing? Group 1: John Mayer, Jason Mraz, Ben Harper... or Group 2: Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Sting. Or give me an example of what you are talking about if my groups aren't what you mean (try using either all of the same sex or a mix of both in each group).

I don't know much about Sting's stuff, but Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye stuff is a lot easier to sing. I'm not saying the guys in Group 1 are better singers, but songs like Isn't She Lovely, How Sweet It Is, etc. aren't difficult for amateurs to sing. They're way easier than Group 1's stuff when you're doing it a cappella.

I'm not sure what you mean "not difficult for amateurs to sing"? Talking about singing it well here.

Yeah this was kind of weird, but I marked out a bit hearing Radiohead on AI.

On a similar note, Jeff Buckley's "Hallelujah" is like the most depressing song ever, but for some reason they played it during the end with people celebrating just because it has the word "hallelujah" in it.

Maybe they meant to play Handel's Messiah version

Eh, it depends on the song. My Cherie Amour, Isn't She Lovely are pretty easy songs to sing along with.

Stevie's probably not the greatest example, but my point still stands. The modern genre Mayer falls into (not even sure how you would classify it) is a good way to separate the good singers from the great singers. It's a lot harder to distinguish people when they're singing karaoke stuff all the time.

All this talk about Bowersoxs like she is some kind of hideous troll. She is a decent looking women. Not a supermodel to be sure but hardly ugly.

Ya, I thought Thaduis crushed "The Man in the Mirror" in his final audition.

Whats the line on whether Bowersox has her teeth whitened before next Tuesday? I'd say its somewhat low but it wouldn't surprise me

that tori kelly chick got completely hosed -- and she was the prettiest one left. no way that hispanic chick should have got the nod over tori or charity vance. just take a listen.
