I don't remember, why were the shoes not introduced during the criminal trial? had they not been discovered yet?

They couldn't find them, he claimed he never owned any (in the civil deposition, he intentionally mispronounced the name and called them something like ugly ass shoes). It wasn't until after the trial that pictures materialized of him wearing them during sideline reporting in NFL games.

Simpson´s reaction to pictures showing him wearing those shoes (299 of which were sold in that size in the US) is just priceless (1:43). He clearly knew that this was the smoking gun, and so did everybody else.

Martin Sheen will executive produce Hard Evidence: O.J. Is Innocent, a new true-crime docuseries that will attempt to show that Simpson is innocent.

In a competitive move, Investigation Discovery — the cable network known for its crime, mystery and documentary programs — has picked up the six-part entry that will reinvestigate the Simpson case from beginning to end.

I pray my fate is never in the hands of random morons like the OJ jury. Then again they are probably fairly representative of a typical jury in USA#1.

The US judicial system is something akin to trial by combat where both sides get to choose who does the fighting.

For most middle-class and below, the economic power of the State overwhelms the mediocre champion (attorney) that the accused can afford.

For the wealthy, the tables are turned, and their financial strength allows them to choose a superstar defense, and the accused's financial resources overwhelm that of the State.

Plus, if any aspect of the case is in the news, the only people that can get on a jury are people who don't pay attention to anything and thus are easily manipulated.

I loved Travolta in this, too.

and ya it's pretty sickening watching all those ****ing morons cheering when he's aquitted,

it's quite a remarkable feature of society that so many ppl act as if events that have nothing whatsoever to do with them are so meaningful to their lives and affect them personally when in reality not even a year later none of those same ppl will ever really think about it again.

morons gathering together and praying for a not guilty verdict like somehow it will matter or make a difference in their life.

Go back and watch Cochran's party scene, as he says "(Cops unjustly owning black people) is out of the shadows now. THAT'S the victory." That victory DID affect ppl's lives!

American Crime Story Renewed For Season 3

The crime series receives an early pickup.

October 18, 2016

FX is doubling down on American Crime Story and has renewed the anthology series for a third season well ahead of its Season 2 premiere, which has yet to set a premiere date. The good news comes following a strong debut outing for American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson earlier this year, which garnered impressive ratings and high critical praise, including multiple Emmy Award wins.

Today's Season 3 order will set the series' focus on the 1997 assassination of famed designer Gianni Versace, who was killed in front of his Miami Beach mansion by serial killer Andrew Cunanan, who committed suicide eight days later.

We already know that Season 2 will focus on the events surrounding Hurricane Katrina and its devastating effects on the city of New Orleans. Word is that both upcoming seasons will film concurrently early next year, with Season 2 airing later in 2017 and Season 3 in 2018.

Not like I won't watch it, but is the Gianni Versace case really that interesting? I know nothing about it aside from an Eminem lyric.......

Yes. It was huge news when it happened. The real story is with Cunanan.

Just vacationed in Miami Beach this year. They still revere Versace there, heard his name more than once.

The Versace/Cunanan story wasn't nearly the circus that the OJ Simpson case was, but it was still really big news. I'm interested in seeing where they take it.

Just saw this show on netflix, this is what tv making is all about. everything about it was solid.

crazy how if this trial was held today he would be found guilty no matter who his lawyers were.

if we were on the jury panel back there im sure we would have a more difficult time then we think

The fathers day brunch scene was completely unnecessary, but pretty hilarious.
It didn't seem completely unnecessary to me. Rather, that scene was used to show what a media circus the trial had become--that the attorneys for both sides were becoming famous to the point where even rando hostesses in a restaurant would recognize Robert Kardashian from TV covering the trial.
