Some overt - The top two teams in season 1 managed to get an entire day ahead in India, and stayed ahead, and it really cost production to try to film multiple legs at once - to some more covert - apparently Millie and Chuck attempted to survive on next to no sleep, instead researching stamps on their passport (which are prestamped before the race) in order to try and get an advantage... and then they almost killed themselves (and their crew) a few times falling asleep behind the wheel driving across Malaysia or something. From that point on they significantly nerfed the driving the contestants do. I want to know more stuff like that.

Also, if you're ever in Europe and want to know how to put your car in reverse there's a small, circular lever under the head of the gear shift. Pull up on it and then either put it in extreme 1st or extreme 5th/6th depending on the car. Otherwise just push down on the entire gear shift and do the same. I thought this was common knowledge but apparently it isn't.

that may have been one of my favorite things of all time for TAR. It does make it more of a real race. But, I can understand the nightmare on production (which was also why they cancelled doing a Fast Forward on each leg because teams didn't always take it).

I get why they did neuter it a bit, but, I do wish they would try to do something to change up the clustering and reward the teams that can get ahead by a few hours.

Last episode was really well-edited. Kind of hard to predict the seemingly less-than-brilliant cowboys would boss through a leg helping Yale in their wake but the race does weird things and the editors played it nicely.

Finaly six teams are probably the correct teams. FF team is probably the best team remaining though in a bunched finale they may be at a small disadvantage to Indy. The other teams can all have their moments but it's hard to see another winner. FF team definitely getting a winner's edit as well. If both of those two teams aren't in the finale, based on editing so far, I'll be quite surprised.

Don't get me wrong - I like that they rescued the show from airing at a bad date and time; but trying to squeeze it into the gap between Survivor seasons, with, if I'm not mistaken, the THIRD two hour episode so far airing this week, just makes it seem rushed and not as enjoyable. Too bad, since the I agree with others that the cast is quite solid. Then again, if this is what it takes for the show to stay on the air, I guess I'm okay with that versus the alternative of it getting canceled.

Very enjoyable season. This is the strongest final 4 I can remember in a long time.

You Paul fanboys always amuse me. He's as bad at Big Brother as Russel is at Survivor

great final leg last night. That was painful seeing Henry actually get it and then out think himself. My only issue with this season was all of the double episodes. I'm a big fan of the series and love watching it, but, the double episodes really crammed it all together.

That said, I'm extremely happy that we don't have all of the gimmicks that the past few seasons have had. I don't care about random IG/youtube "celebs", don't need people who don't know each other, and don't need one long blind date for a season. Just put effort into the casting, bring in good teams, and give us good legs like they did.

yeah if Henry cant outwit the cocktail waitress there, you dont deserve the win. Jen was also edited to be the smart one all season long and couldnt come thru for Team Extreme. Queen Evan wouldve finished it in like 3 minutes.

Cody was an unstoppable force all season. A year ago, he was a shlub in Iowa with no prospects. Went to Big Brother with his truck broken down on the side of a road.

Watched the finale tonight. Not a fan of Cody and Jessica so wasn’t happy with the outcome. I was pulling for Team Extreme because I thought they were the best team. Cody definitely was a beast but it sure seemed like Jessica didn’t do many challenges but maybe I’m misremembering.

definitely feel bad for team extreme since they were the best all season. Yale probably would’ve won - by a lot - if they switched and had Henry do the climbing and Evan do the puzzle. was a good season

I only watched 3 or 4 episodes, but I thought Jessica always came off really poorly. She came off as incredibly untrustworthy, but would act like it was some terrible act of betrayal when somebody didn't help her or u-turned her or whatever.

It sucks that finding out willy mays' home runs ahead of time didnt give XGames any real advantage

they got to the end first anyways. I don’t think it would’ve made a difference. Jen clearly couldn’t figure out the puzzle

Yah - was definitely rooting for Yale at the end, just because of the way they were shunned by the "cool kids". Torturous that they showed that Henry got the puzzle, but didn't call for an inspection. I am sure Evan gave him a stern lecture later. I think I would have just started madly swapping pieces out and calling for an inspection every change.

Henry/Evan definitely ****ed up by not having Henry do the bridge thing and Evan the final puzzle.

Nothing I saw changed my opinion of Jessica and Cody from when they were on Big Brother - basically that they are self-entitled a-holes.

A bigger lead wouldve made a difference. "Figuring out the puzzle" seemed like a variance fest

I havent read any interviews, but Im guessing they just found out about that on Wednesday night, watching the episode. Must have been sickening.

it's always hard to tell by the editing, but, it did seem like team extreme had a decent lead going into the puzzle.

Thinking about it more, I'm somewhat surprised Henry messed up under the pressure. Every competitor should've taken a lesson from the Beekmans years ago when they wrote down every little thing and then crushed the puzzle at the end.

At this point, you have to know that you'll be getting some sort of memory puzzle, so writing down every little thing from the legs should be old hats by now

+1 to the whole post with emphasis on the last point. I was ready to quit watching before this season started but I figured I'd give it one more shot. Very glad I did.

Season felt kinda rigged for the team that won. Too many challenges that were subjective that went in their favor. The singing in Africa and the fortune cookies come to mind but there were others.

That singing challenge was completely arbitrary.

I'm not sure why they'd rig it for Jess and Cody. Kinda of weird take imo.
