It wasn't fixed. The trick was that the email was sent before the show but not opened. During the trick, someone back stage makes a quick couple of photoshops to the referenced file on the photo server and then the email is opened and Terry's phone's email program downloads the photo. Basically, the email didn't contain an attached photo but was an html page with the photo pictures linked in it.
Remember he told Terry to not open the email until the end of the trick. Kind of clever.
I'm not sure about the deck of cards.
