Stark also mentioned during the Avengers how Coulson and gf should come up from Portland and spend a weekend together

I am enjoying the end of the season, I hope this gets a second (havent heard if renewed yet or ratings are bad etc).

Now we are post Cap 2 the show is developing nicely. Its already setting the scene for Avengers 2 with Cobie working with Stark and "privatising global defense" or however she phrased it. I like the twist that Coulson was behind TAHITI and he was chasing himself the entire time.

I know Fury is off walking the earth like Caine from Kung Fu but I would really like to see him make an appearance at some point in Agents.

It's ABC's 6th best rated show according to TVByTheNumbers.

Spoiler:
Fury made a point of saying he's "heading to Europe" at the end of Cap. We will obviously find out why. After seeing the follow up episode of Agents I predicted he would show up at the end of the season and
Spoiler:
I think I read somewhere he filmed some scenes for the season finale

Season 2 still hasn't been announced. But since Disney owns ABC and Marvel and it's in their top shows, it'd be insane if they didn't renew

If this show does get renewed, it may benefit from a shorter season. The writers don't seem to have enough good ideas for 20+ episodes. A more compact timeframe for the story might reduce the filler and help the show maintain momentum.

Yeah if they stick to major plots instead of one off stories this show could be very good.

Yes and no - this is a new creation in the Marvel-verse. There's lots of material to reference but there aren't storylines that they can directly reproduce.

I feel like they have stuck to basically the same plot.

Everything was tied together; Hydra was behind extremis and quinn, and in turn, gravitron and blizzard, and the only side storylines that were introduced were only done so to further character development

*I think you mean Centipede. Centipede is Extremis+Super Soldier Serum as best it's known+Gamma Rays.

centipede is the organization behind it but it's still basically extremis
it was explained in the pilot

Revealing that Hyrdra was behind everything in the later stages of the season is not a magic wand that automatically glues together all the preceding episodes. This show has still been a directionless procedural for most of the season with too many mediocre episodes.

I agree that most of the episodes before the Cap crossover were "meh" at best. I still think though that everything will come to play out, maybe in the 2nd season. For example the minute we saw Franklin Hall in the post scene of that early episode, I knew they would be building to a Graviton escape from the Fridge. (In the comics he was imprisoned in the Raft and he and a dozen other villains would escape to launch an attack against the Avengers) I figured the episode with Blizzard would contribute to the same storyline. A few other episodes tied in with events from Thor/Avengers, so I think that they did an ok job.

In the pilot Fitz or Simmons says the formula for Project Centipede is Extremis+the best known version of Super Soldier Serum+Gamma Rays+???. It's not the same thing as Extremis.

I really really don't want them to redeem Ward. Either keep him as a villain or just kill him off.

Would be surprised if Ward stays evil, possibilities include

1. Turns out to be a double double agent for Fury.
2. Gets killed protecting Skye/Fitz/Coulson/Asian.
3. Kills himself to protect Skye/Fitz/Coulson/Asian.
4. Refuses to kill Skye/Coulson, his mentor decides he's weak.
5.Skye convinces him to turn good, they're in love.
6. He dies doing something good, they bring him back to life with T.A.H.I.T.I.

Yeah I just don't want to see some Angel/Spike arc. If they try to redeem him and keep him on the show I think I'd just totally lose interest unless they manage to do something new with it.

Wellhe can't just redeem himself by saving the day or something and have them all be like "hey welcome back on the team". He killed several shield agents.

He definitely has to die.

Season 2 cannot have him...at all...if it wants to prosper

Skye not letting Ward die was pretty terrible to me.

Redeeming Ward would be just brutal. Although very likely black-Ward is also Hydra so that might be where Ward's next face-turn happens.
