I liked it, best episode so far. Should have had a proper fight between May and Akela in the hotel though.

Yeah, hardly spectacular or anything but pretty good episode. Mind you, I would have hoped this kind of quality would have been the worst episode so far, not the best.

First episode i didn't feel dirty watching.

Just caught up and while I think it is mediocre overall the last 2 episodes have been improvements on the first 2 which shows some promise. I think the show needs to explore some overreaching mythology to keep my attention. The characters just aren't interesting enough for a case of the week procedural. They have had 4 episodes to establish the world and characters and now it is time to delve into some interesting plot. I like the idea of Coulson creating the supervillain gravity scientist guy and look forward to him coming back and challenging shield (I assume that is where they are going with the final shot of ep 3.)

As far as the characters, at first I thought they were mostly lame but some are growing on me. Coulson is awesome obviously and Gregg completely carries the show. Sky seemed miscast to me at first but the actress has grown on me and I think she has adapted really well to the quippy whedon dialogue. The 2 scientists are sometimes annoying but I kind of like their dynamic overall and the manic energy they bring to the show. My biggest issues are the nondescript white dude (don't even remember his name and I watched 4 episodes i the past 2 days) and the asian lady (same.) White dude has no personality and no chemistry with sky so their sexual tenison/friendship/mentor thing doesn't work at all. And I get that ming na is supposed to be all brooding and serious but jesus is it a bore to watch. Hopefully she comes alive a bit as she explores this Coulson mystery alluded to at the end of the last episode.

Right now it just seems like an inferior version of Chuck season 1 but there are enough things to like about it that I could see it developing into an interesting show. I'd grade the first 2 episodes at a C/C+ level and episodes 3 and 4 around a B/B-.

Show is getting better

Yeah its still missing something but the dynamics we're much better. Story had potential. I had a bunch of question that needed answering on Scorch so im a bit disappointed that they chose drama over nerdism.. but what ever still better than before.

Am I crazy for liking this show a good amount? I pretty much like all the characters. Coulson is great. Skye has a nice wit about her and they've made her pretty interesting. Fitz/Simmons are nice secondary characters that have been used very well. Both Melinda and Grant are a little bland but isn't that kinda their point? Plus I feel like as the show goes on well learn more about them that will make them better.

Also, while each ep has basically been MOTW, they're definitely opening up threads for a few potential long arcs- caterpillar, Skye's parents, etc.

I'm fully on board.

Ward standing out in a normal crowd was perfect so I was a bit disappointd that Skye had tipped off the hacker guy.

Less Fitz/Simmons this week was nice.

By far the best ep. of the season I think. It's finally showing some promise and some chemistry between the actors.

Fitz and Simmons were somewhat less manic which helped a lot.
