Ok,

I don't want to ruin anything for anyone here but I have to say this. That punch to that diandre kid looked ****ing fake. Then the only actual fight takes place off camera. I understand the inmates don't want cameras filming them while they do this but this is a reality show. The producers can't pay a few grand to make sure every area is on camera and have the cameras hidden? I am starting to think some of this show may be staged.

At least.. The stuff in D block may be.

The Diaundre fight was funny. The guy walking up to him I think whiffs the first punch, and after the second he already stood up and an officer is already there to break it up.

Robert has to be hired to cause drama, or he's just hamming it up for his 15 minutes of fame.

And that goofy perma smile on Robert's face like Gomer Pyle in Full Metal Jacket before Hartman choked it out of him.

This is county jail anyway, not prison. People with 60 day or less sentences or waiting trial I believe would be in jail. So there is no lifers there that don't care about anything.[/QUOTE]

Do you really believe that someone awaiting trial for a serious crime(s), or has poor impulse control really gives a ****? Especially if they know they're going away anyway?

Robert apparently has been on another reality show.

Extreme Time Cheaters on TLC

"On a date, Robert keeps things moving by demanding his courses be brought to the table at the same time. His would-be inamorata doesn’t look impressed. “I want to find someone to tolerate me,” he says. “Not love, just tolerate.” OK, maybe Robert is wiser than he looks."

picture re: drinking all meals to save time.

but wait, in this picture he's pouring into a cup...

why would he dirty an extra dish?

Going to prison for 60 days doesn't seem to be the most efficient use of time, so he must have gotten over his compulsion. OR, yea he just says and does whatever he can to get on tv.

Holcomb did say on record that he is not an actor and that the experience in jail was 100 percent real. As far as the video monologue uploaded on June 19, 2015, Holcomb said it's a thing of the past.

"I did try acting years ago [but] I'm not an actor," he said. "I'm not interested in acting. I'm interested in teaching and helping children, that's my goal."

and his youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtz...mZmoOQzPaQYbqQ (he removed vids related to acting)

here's his website: http://letshelporphans.org/index.html

That easy to find his full name. Something tells me participating in this program may not have been a good idea. Think how easily one of these guys could find where this man lives.

Yeah that Duandre stuff was staged and a lot of this stuff is seeming hokier and hokier. The fight investigation? They had all of the stuff we saw so they knew exactly what it was about. And they could see it happening (just like we did!) and they let it go on. Although the actual fight off camera seemed real but don't know why they didn't intervene earlier. The shower shoe stuff and its resolution seemed far fetched too.

I actually think the other stories going on seem real. It is D-pod (which is also imo the most interesting pod we are following right now) that seems staged/fake to me.

That paper that did the interview with Robert shows them being booked (the dates are late October 2015). So they spent 60 days in jail during the holidays?

Zach, Tami, Robert: http://www.newsandtribune.com/news/j...d58cdfe4b.html

That Diaundre guy: Diaundre Newby, 18, Lexington, faces charges of criminal deviate conduct, a Class B felony; incest, a Class C felony; and sexual battery, a Class D felony.

I think the guy that messed up his story did it on purpose. Better yet I believe he was told to mess it up. Makes for better TV. My 10 year old daughter knows there aren't stop signs on the expressway.

Even though there aren't people serving life in jail there are people facing life in jail who know they're screwed therefore they don't have anything to lose and would beat the crap out of someone they suspected of being a cop. In my experience I didn't expect anyone of being a plant. Why would there be a cop in there? Again, in my experience a large % of the people facing serious time in jail aren't splitting the atom (stolen from TD). Aren't the people making this show telling the inmates the cameras are there to document new comers to jail? In that situation I can see about 98% of the inmates toeing the line because they don't want to get another charge. The other 2% would start a fight in hopes of being on TV.

Yes, plants.
Yes, 15 of fame.
Yes, staged.
Yes, another fake "reality" show.
Yes, it's a ploy to make money (duh).

The simple equation when it comes to media in gneral and especially TV is:
there is very little content, therefore, it's either repeating old crap, or making stuff up. In the case where people talk about the IN and OUT time to commericals, that is a carry-over of both the low content "golden rule" and also a stylistic element copied from other programs that started doing that (it's related to a concept called "caputre and hold", trying to get as many viewers to stay as long as possible, and adding more along the way. The reason for that is simple: adveretiser $ and ratings; ratings lead to more advertiser $ and also more investments into the production house/studio/channel, etc.

On top of all of this, TV and media at large, always distort message, some much worse than others. TV is very bad on the spectrum of being easily and highly manipulated. There is 0% that what's happening according to "viewers" is even remotely close to the reality of being there.

Feel free to chime in, but can tell you this is really how it works. And, it's even worse than that, but will spare the details.

Robert's "story line" does seem a bit weird. I dont think anyone would act the way he does, no matter how start or above it all you think you are.

It's still entertaining though.
