Was very interested in this when I heard about it a while ago. The trailers and previews have not looked very good imo, but I'll still give it a shot.

Sepinwall and Feinberg loved this in pretty glowing terms for them. I wasn't super interested, but their enthusiasm will make me give it a chance.

Looking forward to this. From the preview, it seems that Anna Chlumsky has an identical role to the one she had in In The Loop, which was fantastic.

Add: Just saw creator of the show directed In The Loop. Niceeeee

I liked In the Loop so much that i decided to watch some of The Thick of It, which I also liked, can't see me disliking an American version of this show with JLD, Matt Walsh, Tony Hale and Chlumsky.

Yeah, for me it's just a question of how great this will be, not if I'll enjoy it.

All I know about this show is that youtube clip I just watched, and it looks pretty damn funny, lol.

I was disappointed I didn't hear a 'heyy veep' from Buster.

As it did with Girls, HBO will be making the first episode of Veep available for free for a month: http://insidetv.ew.com/2012/04/12/hb...rls-veep-free/

Been looking forward to this for a while. The Thick of It and In the Loop were both awesome and if this is half as good its gonna be great.

Couldn't watch more than 10 minutes. I love a ton of the cast too especially JLD.

Started kind of slow, but it got really good after about the 10 minute mark.

I didn't like In the Loop but the pilot ep of this was pretty decent. Will keep watching.

Liked it alot. The promos didn't give away the whole pilot like the Girls' spots did.

Matt Walsh killed it.

This was fantastic. Maybe dial down Tony Hale a slight be, but the rest was fantastic.

They use those corn starch things at my office, and they're **** for that exact reason.

Oof, pretty underwhelming I thought. All the jokes fell flat. Also, I'm getting really tired of that quasi-improv, loosely scripted style where the dialogue just kind of trails off half the time and that's supposed to be funny.

Also, had two joke forms I really hate. One where a character just repeats whatever the other character just said back to them but adds "your face" to the end, and the other where someone says something nonsensical and confusing and the other character says "I don't even know what that means." Such a lazy form.

I did laugh a couple times during her botched speech though.

We recently had them replaced by something that is still compostable but doesnt melt when you put it in hot food or drinks. Huge improvement.

From what people had said about the guy whose name I'm too lazy to look up right now's other work and their affection for his writing, I assumed this was pretty tightly scripted (agree that it seemed like a lot of CYE style improv). For people who've seen In The Loop- was this close?

I'm sure it was fully scripted. They're just still lightly using that style bc it's been in vogue for like the last decade. Which makes it even worse imo.

While I have no problem with a profanity laced story, we know it's on HBO, this show doesn't need the Deadwood treatment, it was too sloppy in this context. The Office goes to Washington (without breaking the 4th wall) I suppose is a good catch phrase, I was underwhelmed with the premiere.
