I was impressed at Pres. Taylor's acting this episode, she annoyed me last season but was great tonight.

ok, thinking a bit more clearly now 1 h after the end. I agree with you, that scene sucked and the last scene with this one guy close to killing Jack also sucked since it was very obvious that Jack wasnt going to die this way. Still a very, very good finale that kept me on the edge of my seat.

also really loved "EVENTS OCCUR IN REAL TIME".

sucked a bit that aaron didnt show up, but I guess it makes sense to have Jack be the only person in every season.

Probably common knowledge, but for those of you unaware (per Wikipedia)...

Feature film

A feature film adaptation of 24 was originally planned to be shot during the hiatus between the sixth and seventh seasons. Series creators Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran planned to write the script with showrunner Howard Gordon working on story.[39] Filming was to take place in London, Prague, and Morocco.[40] Jon Cassar revealed in an interview "I think the idea is to do an hour of it that sets it up where you can go around the world and set up a story in normal film time, and probably the last hour will be in real time something like that."[41]

Plans for the movie were later put on hold. Kiefer Sutherland stated, "It's impossible to ask writers to work on the show and then come up with an amazing film we can shoot in the break between seasons."[42]

Executive producer Howard Gordon says on the future-film, "My hope is to go [shoot the feature film] after the eighth season. That's sort of what we're aiming for. I think that a big-screen 24 will be a fitting send off for Jack."[43]

It is now known that a film will be made after the eighth season, and that filming will still take place outside of the U.S., with London thought to be a possible location.[31] As of 2010, the film will be released after the eighth season.

On February 9, 2010, Fox announced plans to produce a feature length film set in Europe. The same team that produce the TV series will be involved, and Billy Ray has been contracted to produce a script.[44]

On March 16, 2010, Fox confirmed that the script is being written and production should commence later in the year or early in 2011.

On April 19, 2010, Kiefer Sutherland said in an interview at a BAFTA event in London, that the script was finished and he would be reading it upon his return to the U.S.[45]

eh, this finale was.........pretty lame compared to last week. The pres did the right thing, Jack never got killed...............not very satisfying. Logan with the gun under his chin was in his pussy character, but I really expected more from him prior to his locking himself in.

With Jack on the run from the Russians as well as the Americans, the stage is set for the heroic return for the movie. Just no fire here, imo.

Was I the only one who thought it was REALLY lame Jack didn't kill either Logan or Suvarov when he had the chance? I mean, come on, he spends the last ~6 hours on one of the bloodiest rampages in TV history, and we're finally at the top two dogs: Suvarov, the guy who ordered Renee's death, and Logan, a person Jack hates more than anyone alive. And you mean to tell me that he had a sudden change of heart at the last second? I know he's worried about some intense repercussions that may follow, but seriously, what a disappointment.

It's fairly consistent with a lot of other moments in the series where Jack is in this situation.

Season 1: He wants to shoot Nina at the end, and finally stands down, allowing justice to take place of his personal vendetta.

Season 2: Jack almost shoot Nina when she tries to escape in the shop they go to trying to find info on the bomb - after she escapes and is trapped in the doorway.

Season 2: Jack walks out of CTU and is going to leave LA and get Kim out, and he sees the families walking by and it sparks that part of him that went into the military and law enforcement - to protect people.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head. He does let his personal vendetta unfold when he thinks he's exhausted options (i.e. he executed nina in the server room of CTU), but when he sees an option, as he clearly did here in using Chloe to bring Suvarov and Logan to justice, to sidestep his personal vendetta and let justice prevail.

Let's face it. Jack's killed enough people, including those who did him and his family wrong, to know, that he isn't going to fill better after he shoots Suvarov and Logan. It might have a little satisfaction momentarily, but it won't last imo.

lol @ comparing an ending in 24 to one in lost.
it was okey, but one of the most underwhelming endings i have seen.
like i will remember lost/wire/sopranos i will remember forever. this one, prolly not. maybe. idk.

still a decent series. last two years were solid after about a 3 year strech of **** which included edgar getting gassed to death @ CTU (lol)

Ya overall it was a good ending. the 1st hour tonite I thought was great and then when Jack wimped out on Logan and Subarov (spelling?) and the treaty thing it lost a little but of flair. I know for the movie purposes and such it wouldnt have worked but I, at the time, thought Jack was dead when Taylors assistant said "we didnt make it" to her in the elevator and, honestly, I thought that was actually a pretty descent way for Jack to die. With that said i kinda like the "him on the run" touch to keep it alive but I agree the last scene where the guy was about to shoot him kinda let me down.

I agree with another poster that President Taylor gave a spectacular acting performance tonite and I feel overall the finale was a very good one, although admittedly not as incredibly fantastic as i was hopin and somewhat expecting after the last 4-8 episodes have been the best 24 since the first 3 seasons, if not ever.

My favorite part probably was at the end of hour 1 when Jack told Logan "tell thew truth for once, tell him youve got credible intel on a threat to his life." That was classic. I also thought "go to hell" . . . "you first" from a couple episodes ago was awesome.

So all in all it was a fantastic finish to the last season after what was a VERY boring and not-good 1st half or so of this season. I gotta admit I was really getting concerned early on in the season but it ended with a bang I could have never anticipated, and I enjoyed it all. Sad its over

I don't think I won... off the top things I got wrong - Surverov not killed, Kim not mentioned explicitly (right? he said "my family" like 3 times), Kim not on screen, no silent clock...

anyway, will wait til someone else does the scoring.

Then we get a view of that bridge and hear a gunshot, boom. Silent clock.
what. that would be turrble. jack isn't the suicide type.

Am I the only one that thought "wtf why doesn't the pres just pardon Jack before she quites"? That or tell the VP that he has to pardon jack or something. Obviously then it wouldn't set up for a movie that well but wtf. Going to miss the show for sure.

that would probably tank imo... lol nbc. can't think of original programming, so rob it off another network and put a little makeup on it.

just got back to watch the DVR, ending was fairly underwhelming like everyone has said so far. no unexpected twists at all, maybe minus the little logan murder-suicide which was kind of a fitting end for his character.

that countdown clock at the end was a nice touch. really hit me that it's finally the end of a good run for this series.

there's always the movie right?
