Killing himself is a pretty sucky way to go. But when you think about it, can anybody really kill Jack Bauer, except maybe Jack Bauer?
The fade-out ending was awesome though. Totally had that "this is it, Jack's gone" feel to it (for all we know, he could be living next door to you right now
). As usual in 24, it was a cliffhanger ending where we now speculate whether he made it or not, and it left a great sense of closure at the same time. That's what I love about this series, they always knew how to get that balance between closure and cliffhanger in their finales.
Man...I'm a bit choked up here. I'm not gonna cry like a wimp, but I've seen every episode and this ending is a hard pill to swallow.
