Setting up the final Russian plot, predictable, but exciting.
Renee being shot, awesome.
Clearly setting up Jack to rampage, awesome.
The end was great, but the first 45 minutes were boring. The show is at its best when we're watching Jack kill people, outsmart terrorists, or pretty much do anything. There was like a 30 minute chunk where we didn't even see him because he was banging Renee, so they had to fill it with President storylines (which are almost always weak). I'm not complaining...I realize they had to do it to transition into the next part of the story, I'm just saying it wasn't a particularly exciting 45 minutes.
I doubt Hastings dies.. he doesn't feel important enough to bother with.
CTU directors usually dies, it's like women that Jack bangs. They developed Hastings as a guy to hate then transformed him into a competent leader, then removed him, then he redeems himself finally by sacrificing himself. Usual business in the 24 world.
Women that are close to Jack
great episode - since it was obv more of a dialogue ep than an action episode, i felt something big like renee getting blown away might be coming. so sad. silent clock is a given there based on her death's affect on jack. poor guy can't catch an effing break.
Chole: "I'll be in Hastings, er, my office"
i hope the rest of the episodes consist of jack blowing people away.
If next week some major character dies and gets a silent clock, then I am positive Jack survives the season. There is also the tiny chance the show ends in Thermonuclear War, and the world gets silent clocked.
