Anyone think 24 could be pretty great if HBO/Showtime picked it up?

I mean they could just make their own show... pretty silly to add cursing and plot coherence after 8 seasons

No, one of the reasons HBO/Showtime/AMC/FX shows work is because of the 9-13 episode seasons.

it becomes 12, LDO

almost all of the recent seasons would have been better if they focused on just the "best top half" of their content

If they were canceling the show anyway and I wrote for it I would throw in all kinds of goofy **** like this.

24 would be sick on HBO, if it could keep the production value. All the hotties would get naked. The Jack torture scenes would be craaazy.

Just saw the episode. So sick. Lol at all the people LOLing at Renee wasting the last couple terrorists when she obviously flanked the **** out of them, they didn't see her coming, and she shot one of them at like point blank.

I did think it was a bit lol though that Jack with a spotter and a crazy high powered rifle couldn't take out at least one of the snipers

Jack got one and so did Cole. The fact Renee got two while hip firing in a minute was bad.

I've been rooting for Chloe's last season for 8 years now.

I don't know if it's possible for me to hate a TV character more than I hate Chloe in 24.

I'd be really disappointed if they ever killed Chloe or Pierce.

More so than if they killed Jack. I liked how they were always immune in a world where no one ever is.

if there's a movie in the works they wouldn't dare kill chloe. i predict renee gets the silent clock since she and jack are getting close.

Can't get over seeing Milton from Office Space, keep thinking he's gonna ask for his stapler.

I hope there isn't a movie so they can do something shocking at the end of this season.

Pretty sure Renee has already been silent clocked.

I keep seeing sentiments similar to this in the thread. If it was just confirmed that 24 has indeed been canceled, why would there be something shocking this season? Wasn't the season written and filmed months ago? At that point, they did not write this season as if it were the last. So unless you expect the 24 writers to rewrite and refilm/redirect the end of this year--and still keep up 1 episode per week--there will be no dramatic ending.

I haven't seen this mentioned at all, but NBC has talked about wanting to pick up 24 if Fox cancels it.

This will be the last, they've decided not to pursue the NBC thing. I'd link you but I'm lazy, just take my word for it!

i don't think that they film that far ahead... something like 4-8 episodes or something. this gives them a little wiggle room - and they also can film multiple scenes and choose which one to use later.

^^^this. NBC is out. Keifer said that he is ready to wrap it up. he also said that he wants to do a movie that would NOT be in real time. let me be the first to predict that the movie talk is a giant level and that is what they will have us all thinking when they kill Jack off in the finale

They still have at least 2 episodes to film. They just announced casting news for the finale.
