I guess even Jack isn't immune to tilt.

You know what I just realized? Renee, who killed a notorious mass-murdering terrorist, gets put up on murder charges for it. But Jack assaults an innocent high-level attorney, and ten minutes later, he's on his way out of the building like it never happened. Is there some message the writers are trying to send me here?

Kill a terrorist = Bad
Assault a civilian = Good

Yeah, maybe Jack is the ****

Wow, terrible, terrible episode.

How is the chief of staff already looking for people to blame? It's been a few hours, and they went from nothing to some good leads. Absurd. And the Justice Department visit? Again?

What exactly is the terrorists' plan? How is this going to help their country? How will this aid the coup? Totally senseless.

How was beard man planning on continuing the operation with Dana after killing two people? That was better than taking the money? Again, awful.

It's 24, so I'm happy to suspend disbelief, but this episode was so mind-numbingly stupid that it was painful to watch.

People are really overthinking this show when they start critically analyzing the actions of two characters who are clearly supposed to be total morons. The double cross thing is just what a really stupid criminal would do imo.

I was a fan of Freddie Prinze Jr's detective skills this episode:

*Dana hands gun to him*

"Oh my god... you were going to kill them weren't you?"

Outlandish prediction:

The Dana Walsh subplot suddenly gains relevance when it turns out that the terrorist hideout is adjacent to the park where FPJ and Dana are burying bodies.

Realistic prediction:

President Hassan gets pissed that the U.S. will bomb his country if the terrorists use the nuke on NYC so he has a change of heart, says "F the peace deal" and joins up with the terrorists. Hassan Schwartzman becomes the good Hassan brother and works with CTU to bring down the terrorists and becomes the president of his country after all.

Yes it wouldnt surprise me if President Hassan ended up being the main terrorist in the whole plot.

The writing for 24 is so bad that anything could happen, but I'm not sure why the US would bomb the made up country because of what some rogue terrorists did.

maybe but imagine a nuke going off on american territory in ney york city which would be multiple times worse than 9/11, there has to be some kind of reaction for sure, i dont think its unreasonable to assume that that would be the invasion of fantasystan.

Well, it wouldn't be a nuke - it'd be a dirty bomb (assuming any sense of realism, which is a stretch). But I don't see the point of invading fantasystan (good choice) when the group trying to cause the coup is already in the US, and an ally is running the country. But whatever, it's 24. Thinking about it is a waste - but sometimes it's so dumb I can't get around it.

The 24 world conveniently forgets itself and mimics present day USA way too much. Think about it, in s6 a freaking nuke went off in California, amidst a wave of frequent terror attacks. Not to mention the US President was the villain behind S5... the makeup of the US would be much different in fictional 24 land than it is... the government would either have way more power or way less, the country would be at war with Russia, China and 3-4 made up Middle Eastern countries and people torture wouldn't be the pressing topic of discussion.

Or something. I haven't really thought out the implications much, but that combined with the fact that is like 2025 or something on the show, I'm pretty skeptical of their portrayal.

But w/e, silly television is fun as long as necks keep getting snapped up.

We need less lame plot and more Jack figuring **** out before everyone else and kicking everyones ass.

Really that simple.

Yeah I definitely want to see Jack take out a whole compound with a pistol again after those in charge don't listen to his advice

As much as I hate to say it, I wish they brought Tony back. Last year, him coming back from the dead seemed crazy. But at least it caught your attention. Is there anything this season that's really catching anyone's attention? This season is SO weak, man.
