I'm pretty sure by now everyone is aware there is the guaranteed threat of force behind that yelling

Ya, the political stuff is so much better with Logan in the mix. I actually didn't mind the slow Jack Bauer stuff with the political **** heating up. Only a handful of episodes left!

In the credits, I saw the name DB Sweeney, and immediately thought, "OMG, isn't that Wayne Palmer?" Nope. DB Woodside was Wayne Palmer. DB Sweeney is the contractor guy. LOL

There's probably a guy in every larger city in the US that owes Jack his life.

Did anyone else enjoy Dana being waterboarded as much as I did?

the last episode did a lot of damage to the president for me. she bounced back and forth between kanin and logan and agreed with whomever she talked to last. horrendous

I realise 24 isn't known for it's plausible plot lines but this one was especially mental:
  • First Chole behaves totally opposite to her character arc. She has always taken Jack's side and risked her career going behind the back of CTU, now, as soon as it's useful for the plot, she starts lying and tricking him
  • Jack "knew" chole would behave like this, even going so far as to predict she would enlist cole to trap Jack. How Jack "knew" chole would act like this is highly dubious
  • Despite Chole's actions Jack "knows Cole well enough" to know that he'll risk his career and life lying to CTU and fighting on Jack's behalf against he president of the united states

Furthermore:
  • Why would Chole send Jack into a trap with a bunch of CTU agents but tell him he's going to the wareabouts of this private security firm. Jack could easily end up shooting up a bunch of people not realising who they were. Chole is depicted as doing this for Jack's own good, but the logical thing would be to just say "Sorry Jack I won't tell you." and leave it at that. The whole trap is mental.
  • The constant shocked expressions when PRIVATE security was mentioned. As if government agents just must be virtuous and amazing, but PRIVATE agents must be synonymous for torture. I'm pretty sure non-government officials are also subject to the laws of the land.
  • The private security room has a "torture room" all setup, hahaha
  • The president breaks character to immediately risk everything just cause Logan makes some stupid speech.
  • Constant ****ed up understanding of politics. Apparently peace can be achieved through signing a piece of paper, even if millions of people in the country hate America and are happy to use nukes against them.
  • "Russia" casually being "Grrrrr... this peace is annoying, but I guess we'll have to let peace prevail because logan knows something about our plot... dammit... nuking manhatten would have been best but oh well... peace it is." WTF WTF WTF

I'm thinking Chloe and Jack were in on the whole thing together. It was a complete setup for Jack to talk to Freddy.

And is confident enough in his read to just hand Cole a gun before Cole has even made up his mind

It's private security hired by Logan, the guy who had a former president killed and helped terrorist acquire chemical weapons for oil. That and the head dude has an evil mustache
  • Constant ****ed up understanding of politics. Apparently peace can be achieved through signing a piece of paper, even if millions of people in the country hate America and are happy to use nukes against them.

It'd help if they explain the peace deal even a little, but we can't use real Middle East country names so that's right out. But if the government of the IRK was allied with USA, it'd be better then if they were an enemy.
  • "Russia" casually being "Grrrrr... this peace is annoying, but I guess we'll have to let peace prevail because logan knows something about our plot... dammit... nuking manhatten would have been best but oh well... peace it is." WTF WTF WTF

Their plan A was for Hassan to die in the limo and the brother goes back to the IRK as new leader with nukes. Plan B was apparently to trade the nukes for Hassan to kill him, ending the peace deal. Nuking Manhattan doesn't seem to have been a goal

Telling him would have made more sense, or sending Cole to Jack and both go to Dana.

He had a read, he stuck with it. It's what Jack does.

Yeah. Never liked Taylor before and now I like her even less.

I suppose she could be saved. Logan was terrible as a waffling, indecisive President. He was gold after his turn.

He'd be a sick poker player. A broke one, but sick nonetheless.

I never liked the turn since it never seemed like his crappy goodness was an act. One minute he can't make a decision then he's a key player in a secret cabal giving nerve gas to terrorists so they can double cross them so they can get the oil in Asia?

I think that Dana turned out to be a wonderful character, at least it seems like in the next episode the threesome of Jack, Freddy and the blondie running around Manhattan and shooting fools up will make for a really good time.

Also, i think that this is the best season, even better than 2.

If you imagine that his waffling was an act from the start, it makes his waffling phase much more palatable.

But then you have to imagine that his waffling in day 4 was all a plan that took 18 months to unfold and step 1 in the plan is get unexpectedly made president by a terrorist attack on Air Force 1.
