Just watched 1-4 all at once. Last season I tried to watch the entire season but lost interest halfway through.

I will try to watch the whole season this time. The two things that are really bugging me so far:

1. The director of CTU...I hate how he walks around with head pushed down and out to the front...do people really walk around like that? Also, his acting sucks.

2. There seems to be an awful lot of dialogue to explain really obvious plot points. Mostly I remember it from Chloe...stuff like "That means that XXXXXX, then XXXXX will happen because of XXXXXX. If XXX happens, then XXXXX will be next! We have to XXXXX now or XXXXXX.

I think the black guys neck is going to be what will stop me from finishing the season. Hope he dies in a few episodes or I might be gone.

Oh yeah, I think the battle star galactica chick is pretty ugly.

I have loved 24 since day 1, and love the new season already, I can't wait to see what interesting twists come in over the next few episodes.

I also have just watched the first 4 seasons. At this point, I see this show as much a comedy as a drama. Jack Bauer is not only the most physically fit terminator on the planet, he has an inane ability to know absolutely everything about everything. He knew the unlock code for the "football" case.

that's because he's not a level 1 thinker, but a level 10+ thinker! He'll be great at poker imo, he got the poker face down to the point Chris Ferguson would show tells. "WHAT DO YOU HAVE, I WON'T ASK AGAIN"

It is a mind**** show for sure. I just find myself chuckling while the action is moving sometimes. Jack Bauer is such a polarizing character. He's the most polite individual, always uses please and thank you. I keep waiting for him to state, "May I have the honour of torturing you now?"

From what I have read the show goes downhill for a while, its still good entertainment though.

How it it that Jack always gets talked into taking these assingments that is so against?
He hasnt worked for CTU (directly) since season 1!

[nit]He was at the start of season 3[/nit]

Really though, it's just the standard 24 formula, with Jack going through the motions of pretending to be a reluctant hero for the first hour. We all know he's going to be torturing Muslims again by supper time.

I hope next season they have him give up on retiring, at some point he just needs to realize that this is what he is meant to do.

If they really want to end the Jack Bauer saga the right way, they will launch him into space for his finale.

RENEE ****ING WALKER INDEED!

We had Palmer ousted and reinstated during the same day Season 2, we had the president killed in Season 4, ousted in Season 5, almost killed in Season 6, it's a pretty good chance that President Taylor doesn't live through this season, especially because I can't imagine she's incredibly popular amongst the viewers.
if the president is killed i'll eat my words. ps michigan sucks.

She won an emmy for best supporting actress in a drama for that role, so I think you might be in the minority.

She doesn't bother me at all. The original Palmer and Charles Logan were easily the best but Wayne Palmer was awful (and he presided over the worst season). I can live with the current pres.

She won an emmy for that role and won a Tony for Doubt recently too...

Cherry Jones is considered one of the best actresses in the country...her role is not great, but he does a good job with it.

She IS annoying as hell that is a fact, but it is not her acting.
What really got on my nerves last season, was how every third second she was on screen, an adviser would walk up to her with a very grave look on his face and say "madam president".
The phrase was used thousands of times in season seven. It was worse than plot holes, the daughters acting and Jacks disease.

And how is that different then every other season with a male president where they are referred to as Mr. President. The phrase was used "thousands" of times in season 1 through 6.

You do seem to be quite the authority though... maybe I've misread you.

"She IS annoying"
"That is a fact"
"every third second she was on screen"
"used thousands of times"
