what is your stop-loss on a session?

this question will definitely vary from session to session, but in general how much do you have to lose before you decide to walk away?
2bi? 5bi? play through it?
i guess this will also vary depending on live VS online, playing short vs deep etc, but generally

I think optimal thing is to stop when you feel like youre starting to make wrong decisions based on emotions - then i usually want to stop because the game is no longer fun as before - then i ask myself if im hungry\tired\hydreted (sometimes its just the case) and if all of those a negetive, i will try to take a nap\make a coffee or just hit the gym if i feel that the field is not really soft so i can go for 2 hours
i found this the optimal thing - and when im in time that im in my A GAME that is usually what happend and its great

It depends, does losing 5+bi affect your game in a bad way? If so, stop playing and think about moving down in stakes (as it should not be money you mind losing). If the table is good why bother to quit even if you are down a lot.
That said, I do not think there are many plo players who manage to keep playing there a-game after losing 10+bi. 95% of the players will losen up their range.

I try to stick to nor more than four 100bb buy-ins. It depends on how I'm playing/feeling and what the table is like.
(Granted, I've lost six before, but I should have left at four and I knew it.)

There is something known as a the "threshold of misery", a point after which losing another buyin doesn't hurt any more, because you are already in a world of pain so it makes no difference. Once you are past that point you should stop. Even just a fifteen minute break can make a world of difference. I hit a tough downswing a couple of days ago. I went +300 on the day, to +550 on the week, and the next thing I knew I was -700 on the week. A $1250 swing, playing PLO $100 (although some tables you can buy in for 150 or 200 bbs). A decent chunk of that downswing was bad play. I just started getting it in bad, by playing very loose and reckless. Anyway, I took a couple of hours off, won back $200 in an evening session, and was up for the week by the end of my morning session tomorrow.
The most important thing is that once you start playing bad to quit. The reason why a downswing causes tilt is because it is an excess amount of anger and frustration overwhelms your rational mind and makes it impossible to make good decisions. Stepping away can help the emotions recede, but it helps also to identify the causes of tilt before you tilt, and acknowledge and process your emotions.

I always quit if I lose 2 buys in
Edit: once I lost 2 buy in buy the game was so good I can’t bring myself to leave so I did one more but when I lost that I left
That was just a 1/3 game so I booked -900, but if it’s 2/5 my hard max is -2buy in
Online I’ve lost as much as 4 buy in without quitting

If I wanna chop someone's head off with a battle axe, it's probably a good time to take a break. Doesn't matter if it's a 20bb pot or 400bb pot. The blood lust lets me know it's time.

that was more directed to live players
i think it makes sense to stop when your decision making deteriorates
but i also think its hard to self asses your decision making and order yourself to stop when stuck. on top of that, when you start winning again your decisions generally improve

I always set stop-loss on individual sessions. I can handle losing a few buyins (whether that be by making mistakes or running bad) but it always gets to a point where my decision making and ability to think clearly and objectively becomes affected, especially if I'm already quite fatigued from a long session, long day, tough week, lack of sleep etc.
