9 handed PLO game

4 limps to hero in sb.

Standard table dynamic where the majority of limpers will call.

What is the worst hand we can pot from this pos?

How does this change when we are 300/200bb deep vs 100 etc.

Should we ever have a non nut suit? and if so how far do we stray from very good KKs

depends somewhat on the quality of the limps. double suited broadway rundowns are a good candidate.

I'm with the above. Double-suited broadway rundowns are as low as I go, and sometimes I limp those.

I actually don't pot a lot from OOP.

If you only pot in position aren't you risking losing your position when they repot and make the SPR negligible? I'm new to the game.

The deeper you get, the more position and wide ranges matter. If potting with AAxx would leave you with a 1/4 pot bet left on the flop, it doesn't matter your position, because you should be shoveling it in on every flop. However, if you only 4b pre w/ AAxx, and it leaves you with an SPR of 10, you're going to get wrecked continuously on most flops versus good opponents.

I didn't say I never pot from OOP; I said I don't do it a lot. I definitely do it with premium hands, obviously. I just don't see the point of bloating pots OOP w/ mediocre hands, especially when almost everyone calls pre, which they seem to do in this game. And quite a few people limp with premiums praying they get to re-pot. I think position is extremely important in this game -- much more so than in NLHE.

it depends on the table
there is no cookie cutter answer to this
for example do these players limp pot? how do they play post flop?without knowing this nobody can give you a good answer.

i know when i play lower stakes live plo i raise way more hands out of position than i do in higher stakes game bc the players are way worse,i can get away with way more bs and their 3 bets are way more face up.

I don't pot very often from the SB in a limped pot. My potting range is a mix of my better AAxx hands and a percentage of hands that don't hate getting 3bet by obvious aces when we are likely to be 4+ players seeing the flop. I have in mind a ratio of AA to non-AA hands that I want to raise in this spot. That ratio changes based on table composition and stack depth.

I think "what is the worst hand we can pot from this position" is the wrong question, because it implies you pot that hand and everything better, which I think is the wrong approach preflop in this game. I like having some strong hands in my preflop passive range. I might pot it rarely with a small fraction of hands like 7653ds but I am usually limping with a lot of hands that are better than that. Since preflop hand values run together, I don't think you are punished too much by not raising with good hands in this spot.

You're thinking about it wrong. Don't rank hands by things like "good KKs+", just pot hands that do very well in multiway pots.
