Hi all,
5/5/15 utg straddle PLO5. V1 is table spot, bets too aggressively. V2 is reg who is back after time off due to pandemic. We are $2,200 eff. 7 ways.
Limps to hero in straddle who checks option with QQh8h87.
Flop ($95): Qd-Jd-3h. Checks to V OTB who pots, V2/reg calls in SB, hero calls.
Turn ($380): 5h, giving hero bdfd. V $300, reg calls, hero pots $1560. Anyone fast-play flop? Anyone just flat turn? I figured our equity was way better now than otf multiway.
Thanks,
DT

Flop and turn lead are both ok options. As played turn check-raise is good. Awkward stacks (400 or 500 behind) are kind of good for villain when he a nice drawing hand that can fold river bricks. But we should also heavily discount the best combo draws when it limps around, making the check-raise more of a slam dunk - especially given player description.
No strong opinion on whether check-call or flop raise is better. Xr is probably a little better when sb calls and sb range for calling might be stronger than btn for betting.

NH imo.
Certainly nothing wrong with playing faster on the flop, but this is a strong alternative line.

I would play it same way, with PLO5 gotta watch out for more bad turns where we don't want pot to be bloated. Dodging diamonds, dodging A, K, T, 9s. See a turn, get the one we want, make a move there.
Potting on flop as c/r is fine too, can raise it to 500ish with 1700 behind? Just gets us in an awkward spot on the turn if it gets ugly and 1 pot sized bet left and you are drawing for a boat.

calling the flop is fine. potting the turn is standard. You probably won't get called so its 3 to the river some of the time. You didn't have a bd flush draw, you had flush blockers. If those 2 others follow you to the river, the last thing you want is that flush. You gotta look at having non-a high flushes as having cards that might not come and kill you. Plus there is the chance the flush will be good, which isn't that great with the action here. Flush blockers, man. If you want to last long-term in PLO, flushes are the main thing you need to grasp. And how to get value with crap hands. LOL

Well played imo, this puts V in bad spot with JJ or non nut combo draw. This is much better for us than bet / bet with a lot behind on river

Wped. I cr this board with blockers to or with draws but I like to have a lot of top sets in this line cause it plays well this way especially with stack sizes. Keeps all ranges uncapped which is tough to play against for thinking opponents although most 5c players just play their hands especially multi-way like this.
