I have AJ86 on a AJ6 flop with backdoor flush.
Maybe about 20BB to start the hand.
Hijack limps, small limps, I'm in the big blind.

I pot out the flop, hijack folds, and the small blind pot Check raises me.
Which is pretty much both our stacks already in.

I felt he probably had a set but somehow talked myself into calling.
He can never have AA really.

I figured he has a set, or top 2 AJ for a chop.

I somehow talked myself into calling because I have 3 pair and a backdoor flush and thought I had some equity in a chop situation.
Just wondering what others are doing in this spot. Thanks

20bb is a lot to get in on that board.

You haven't mentioned whether there's a flush draw out there but absolutely the sb can have AA, at a guess equally likely that as JJ, small chance of 66. If he has KQT he still has 35%, and he's less likely to play a draw this way - c/r to 12 and then have to call off another 8. He's more likely to c/c or even lead out.

If he has AJ your 2 out redraw is worth very little in the face of 6 or 7 outs if he has two of KQT.

You also haven't mentioned how far you are from the payouts but I'm guessing quite far.

NO flush on the board.

Pretty rare he will have AA.. were still shallow enough that he should
be pot raising pre with AA almost always.

Was 20 BB maximum maybe somewhere in the 15-20 range.

Dunno why u think he has JJ way more than 66. He will play them the same
way, and its a small limp so perhaps its more likely he has JJ, but lots
of 66 combos he will play. He did have 66 also. A pretty weak 66 hand
so

But if you say fold I'm okay with that, could certainly be the right play

Hero line should be conservative in this spot, i think if hero leads pot size is too large. In general, hero should mostly be checking though, as villain has a decent range advantage.

As played, hero can normally make a disciplined fold, he might get a few semibluffs or a chop past but hero is in awful shape vs rest of value range. Also sb should not be getting out of line when bb pots here (with very few, if any bluffs and wraps not folding), though a very creative player could consider playing certain axxx combos very agressively.

Both for the sakes of improving your own play, as well as making it easier for others to give you feedback, consider trying to catch all the key details - including exact suits of each card - of the hand, stack depth in particular being of key importance.

Forgetting postflop play, 66 just doesn't turn up in very many preflop hands, JJ turning up in a lot more.

I couldn't say how many PLO satellites I've played, probably not more than a dozen or so lifetime, but I've played a decent number of PLO MTTs and both correct and common strategy is to complete a decent chunk of AAxx from the sb, particularly unsuited.

Be careful not to fall into the trap of overvaluing blockers.

Bottom line is after potting flop multiway on a dry board and getting raised you have a bluff catcher. I'm guessing your bluff catcher is no good but I have no reads. I wouldn't have bet so large on the flop. Their only profitable bluffs are going to be like j+pair+gutter or an a+pair turned into bluff with some backdoors/gutter maybe so our "blockers" block his bluffs too,.... I personally don't think people bluff often enough vs pot here to put it in, once again u really put urself in a weird spot potting flop. Ur prob not even high up in ur playability/equity range for what I assume u are potting multiway with so you can prob let this go... atleast with 66 that u can have he can have AJ
