Stars IoM-meeting discussion thread - October 2014

New meetings between 2+2 reps and Stars at the Isle of Man have been announced.

https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/28...posed-1472064/

Like last time, please use this thread to discuss an agenda for the meetings so whoever ends up going will have a clear idea on what this community wants

This community member would want his ban lifted. As that's probably not going to happen, this community member would like to tell stars to ***** for offering these so called "interactions" that have NEVER produced ANYTHING good for ANY player at all.

a fairer rake model for plo seems like the obvious answer here.

Re: Stars IoM-meeting discussion thread - October 2014

They should absolutely have at least 2 legit PLO tournies on sunday (not some crappy $22 whatever). I would say a $530 "high roller" (as we know, high roller doesn't mean high roller anymore. I believe ansky said it best in another thread.. "the price of poker has gone up"). A legit $530 xyz guarantee. A $215 main tourny, and a $55 whatever would be my suggestion. All 6-max.

i would ask that we boycott these dumb meetings because they never bring anything and only legitimize in stars saying they listen to the players which they dont.

Re: Stars IoM-meeting discussion thread - October 2014

Definintely address that PLO tournaments have to be spread way more. The new Sunday 82$ PLO PSKO went from 20K guarantee to 50K guarantee already, and is always crushing that by a lot. We need way more daily PLO Hi PSKO's, 1R1A's, Cubed's etc with solid guarantees.
When people can win a lot in PLO MTT's, many will lose a lot in PLO cash, and so everyone will be happy. Poker-economy etc

Seems a no brainer to have a PLO rep going to the meetings, and I agree that we need to decide among ourselves what PLO candidate we are supporting for this.

It goes without saying but the candidate should represent the views of the majority of the PLO forums first in these meetings (but also the views from other 2p2 forums on other games).

I think he did a good job last time, fast & well written tr so my vote would pbb go to him again.

Still, right now my vote goes to send nobody until Stars shows actual interest in the communities' wishes/worries etc.

I don't think they will just do that out of the blue, we had too many meetings to know better.

Its like all the people in this thread forget the 10 million meetings before this one where the rake topic was adressed and didnt change and it wont change in the future. Also we already had some of our best people there to represent us and it didnt matter. Our best bet is to just boycott these stupid meetings that dont result in anything. Just read Pokerstars last meeting report. A complete JOKE!

Re: Stars IoM-meeting discussion thread - October 2014

my personal things that I wish existed

high roller HUPLO tournament for SCOOP/WCOOP, 5k min buyin. Maybe even have like a 5k and a 25k

-wish they would bring back atleast the 50/100 ante normal 6max tables.. 50/100 ante zoom literally never runs, and there would atleast be some HU/3h/4handed action on the normal tables occasionally. I think it would be good for 25/50 also, but the argument is slightly less strong since it occasionally runs

The bolded part I agree with 100% and I'm sure GGARJ would have to agree. The non bolded part is up for debate. But if any candidate goes seeking a rake reduction as his primary goal then I too think these meetings are 100% a waste.

Re: Stars IoM-meeting discussion thread - October 2014

For those looking to boycott the meetings:

It's true that the community has been left largely unsatisfied meeting after meeting, we've failed to get significant rake relief, add a new VIP level, ban seating scripts... but to say that we haven't made progress as a result of the meetings is a blatant distortion of reality. I know I didn't come home with many concrete changes from the last meetings, but reading my report and saying the trip was a waste of time is a conclusion I cannot understand.

How on earth is having a player sitting at the table while discussing player conditions a bad thing? I also don't get this nostalgia for the golden age of forum interaction before the meetings, do they somehow damage Stars' presence on 2+2?

If you don't like how Stars is treating their customers, take your rake to another site and boycott their business. Refusing the opportunity to give feedback with access to raw data has no benefit and actually weakens our leverage to negotiate changes.

+1. I think there is much more of a market for high stakes hu PLO, than NL, so I don't see why there are still 25k/10k HUNLs and no PLO.

+1 to keep pushing the rake issues.

And I disagree with the negativity associated with these meetings. PokerStars does listen, even if they don't always implement what we ask for. They are the only site that matters right now for HSPLO and we need as good of a relationship with them as possible.

Well the difference between "always" and (pretty much) "never" is quite a big one .

I have mixed feelings about this but only because I would like to hear Stars
position regarding Zoom. Most likely it will be "there might be a problem, we will be monitoring it" .

...or we don't hear about it at all because of the NDA.

I just think cooperation sends the signal that we are generally happy with Pokerstars which we really shouldnt be. I think its at a point where pokerstars has acted so retarded towards us that we should hate + boycott them.

Re: Stars IoM-meeting discussion thread - October 2014

Aight, Andreas just nominated me for player rep candidate and I accepted.

I'll let you guys know when the voting, keep discussing the agenda in the meantime. For HSPLO in particular I'd like to hear suggestions for the upcoming table-starter only system for non-zoom cash tables, as it will be tested at high stakes first. Things like how short the table could start, should one be able to tick "deal me in 3-handed", etc.

Re: Stars IoM-meeting discussion thread - October 2014

For the deal me in three handed thing should be allowed but in a way where it doesn't have the current problem of ppl camping out or breaking when game is bad, so if sit in three handed shouldn't be able to leave table and rejoin starter for x time or something along those lines. Also obv sit in three handed and then sit out and wait also prevented somehow.

Another thing is its good that the tables close when play stops but think they close to quickly sometimes go to bathroom and tables have closed should be something along the lines of pause and sit out where u cant use it all the time but if one or two ppl sit out the game doest just break and then sometimes wont get started again

oh and obv an explanation of how seating scripts are allowed and in any way good for the game

I'm also a huge +1 for sending nobody

Not sending someone does break off some communication as you said tappi, BUT Pokerstars is an extremely business savvy company, and i promise that sending no one will raise huge red flags with corporate, and they will press hard to satisfy us once they realize there is a huge problem (or the size of it)

Stars has always been about customer service and sending NO ONE to a player meeting might get the ball moving in our favor

We need:

-no scripts (seating or waitlists, **** scumbags)
-RAKE REDUCTION
-complete overhaul of zoom , not hard to see that some changes should be made

Things to consider:

-more vip platforms, especially from 500k vpp- 1mm vpp
-giving back 5k tables to normal tables (deep too) and making 10k tables zoom (like nl)
-Sunday plo major MAYBE FINALLY? Not some $82 ko lolol
-better plo promotions, plo week was a joke

in case anyone hasn't noticed, it's the same issues over and over and over.

Ggrj no offense, but last time u went, it took forever to get a TR and details were limited. I know u were handcuffed because of an NDA , but overall I think it wasn't handled that well, and I'd really prefer if someone else had the opportunity to talk sense into this company (I don't mean any offense at all, just my feeling)

SRP, I'm fine with you - or anyone else - not being happy with my performance. But what is it exactly that you feel I should have done different? I was under the impression that people liked my activity pre and post meetings, and were pleased with my trip report. I also made clear early on why I delayed posting the TR.
