Is river a fold?

2.5/5, Effective $575. 3 handed.

Villian: I've seen villian play HU against the guy who always sits at the 25/50 table but I think villian eventually lost a couple buy ins. Villian is somewhat aggressive but not the kind to play and raise every hand in position. VPIP 38 PFR 28 3B 14

Hero is probably seen as solid. Villian has seen Hero check top full house against him the other night, villian checked back with the lowest full house.

Button folds, Hero in SB raises to $15 with QsJc7s8c, Villian reraises to $45, hero calls.

Flop: $90, AhQcJh, giving us bottom 2 and runner runner clubs. Hero checks, Villian bets $60, hero calls.

Turn: $210, AhQcJh6c, giving hero a club draw, hero checks, Villian bets $125, hero calls.

River: AhQcJh6c7d, bricking the river completely, hero checks, Villian shoves.

I think flop is standard, and I think turn check calling is ok. Betting or check raising would commit me and potentially be drawing very thin.

Thoughts mainly on river but let me know if check calling is not correct on any other street.

I think against a tough opponent, you can argue for a flop flat. But on the turn, you are drawing to all lower nuts. Best case scenario he has aq/k10, but when he shoves riv with Ac or Kc, you're still not happy with your turn call if club completes. I would fold turn, even against a maniac.

Think you need to 4b this pre. As played I'd fold the turn and definitely fold the river, your range is full of made hands.

Re: Is river a fold?

Interesting hand, agree with fold turn, fold river, and that 4! Pf is a good option. Even with villain correctly turning many 1p hands into bluffs river call is not profitable. Note: villain should and will check back a decent number of 2p on river.

Even flop call feels marginal with no heart - idk maybe fold is correct - especially if we don't have conplete strategy and bluffs planned for next 2 streets. These are also some of the razor-thin bluffs that feel terrible when we get snapped off.

Re: Is river a fold?

this is an ugly sitch, we don't block a K or T and all his Axxx 3-betting hands crush us on this board, and we are OOP repping near what we have. it's very hard to rep any board changing cards, hearts, K, T so what are we hoping for? him missing and shutting down? his range has too many value hands for us to really stop him having free range to bluff almost whenever he wants.

if a turn call is justifiable you almost have to call river really because our range is relying on a board change. I think it is a fold/fold (for turn and river) though but call/call on this river is batter than call/fold. Flop is probably a fold, there are 4 really strong turn outs and even then you might get one turn bet and a shutdown on river (or lose max versus AA), and you also have a bunch of these backdoor club cards that get you into more trouble.

I think flop is a fold - so many turns that we have to fold on, we are already behind to a portion of his 3b range, etc.

just to build on this point, even if we fill up we're still very uncomfrotable.

I think your flop call of a 3/4 pot bet is a huge leak.

Solver is folding all combos of your hand unless they have a flush draw in this spot. And I feel like very few players bluff as frequently as the solver's opponent (the solver itself) does.
