Hey Guys,

wanted to discuss PLO Games in Vegas. I will be there from the 30th of May to 11th of June and want to play Omaha there for a good chunk of my time.

Last time ive been to Vegas was during WSOP 2015. At that time for low stakes games omaha there was only the 1-2-5 Game in the Venetian. Is this still the best place to play low stakes live PLO? I considered the aria, but im not sure how much action there is going on.

I hope someone can give me an update on what to know about the vegas plo games!

Thanks in advance

Aria has the most PLO action, with Venetian and Wynn/Encore having some. Just download the Bravo app and make good use of it. Aria is usually packed, so call in and/or prepare to wait.

Well definitely not at the RIO where they charge you 7 dollars for 30min and give you a shtty dealer where you get less than 10 hand per half hour.

As far as I know, Aria has the most consistent PLO action, but lists can get deep during WSOP time. The Rio has games around the clock. Wynn and Venetian have games. Last year, the Golden Nugget had a consistent 1/2 PLO game during June. There is a sporadic 1/1 game that shows up at Flamingo or Harrah's, I believe. There is a chance of a game at Mirage, Caesars, and Planet Hollywood, but nothing predictable.

Outside of June, it's Aria and occasionally Wynn and Venetian.

Rio gives you the best chance of playing against inexperienced PLO players.

i heard last year rio 10/25 had a bunch of ratholers who would jump from table to table with their 1k short buys

aria had some nice 5/10/20/40 during march madness, hopefully that goes off again

unfortunately aria has a problem with spreading private games in the top section so could easily see bigger public games getting shut out due to not enough real estate

Can you please explain me how to use "call in"? I guess you can call the Floor and they put you on the Waiting list? And when there is a free seat, they call you? How long do you have time to take the seat? Are there requirments for using this?

I never used that nor is it common in europe.

Yes, you can call on the phone (number is in the Bravo app) and get your name on the list. I think you have an hour to show up and let them know you are there (you have to check in), but it might not be that long. I've never taken that long to show up No requirements. Once you are there, you can give them your number and they'll text you when your seat is ready -- then you have like five or 10 minutes to show up.

^ yeah this part of aria was very convenient, it's just a shame that they have private games x_x

I didn't realize they had private games? I've played in the PLO and NLHE in the "top section" and they weren't private. The main floor sent me to another floor person in back who put me on the list, but that was the only difference. I think it was 5/5/10 PLO and definitely 5/10 NLHE. Maybe they have other games running that I'm not aware of, but usually every table on the main floor is in play anyway.

Bellagio has private games, don't they?

they don't technically have private games, but they aren't gonna start new games unless you have at least 7 or 8 people ready to show up. people are taking advantage of this by bringing 9 players to the casino, starting a game, and breaking the game at the same time

i dont expect this to affect 5/10 too much (i saw it at 50/100) but i wouldnt be shocked to see this kinda stuff trickle down to 10/20 at the aria until regulators hit them on it.

and this is all top section, yeah.

i dont quite get it yet. At what point in time do they call you to come to them having an hour to show up? When theres only X amount of people on the waitlist, so there estimating it wouldnt be too long until you get a seat?

What exactly do you expect regulators to do?

Surprised more people aren't saying the RIO(during WSOP time)

I played quite a bit there last year and the games were great. I think there are a number of reasons why:

1. A number of inexperienced people are there for WSOP and quite a few will sit in the games that typically don't play much PLO

2. People that bust out of tourneys will sit in and can already be tilted/chasing their buy ins

3. There seemed to be a lot of action junkies in the games I was in last year(I know small sample size0.

Re: Bravo - note the games played in the Tourney area at RIO won't be on Bravo so don't rely on Bravo to vet those games.

Re: rake $7 a half hour is actually less than I pay now where I live so that doesn't bother me a bit.

Rio has the shortest wait times because so many games running but from my experience they are very hit or miss. The dealers there are also the worst so you get more mistakes and less hands per hour.
As Clayton mentioned there was a mass ratholing problem last year because at the 10/25 limit every game was a main game so can jump from table to table with 40bb. I dont know how true this is, maybe just wishful thinking, but I heard this issue will be fixed this year in the high limit section by making main games to minimize constant table changes.

I went last year and played at the Rio and Aria. Games were super juicy. i honestly can't remember what the rake was but it didn't seem bad, games at Rio seemed easier

Anybody know what the min/max buyins for the games at the Rio (and around town) were last year?

Agreed. If you win 1.5 pots raked at $5 normally per half hour, this $7/hour deal is better. Aria 2/5/10 PLO (and up I'm assuming) uses this structure, lower limits are 10% rake, max $5.

One guy sat down last night who thought it was fixed limit hi/lo, ended up sticking for about 4 hours and enjoying his first time at PLO.

For PLO? I don't think I ever see anything on Bravo smaller than 25/50.
