Playing a US$600 8-game tourney.Round of PLO, 15 left, 12 get paid.

I have 60bb. villain which is Thiago Decano, solid brazilian pro, has about 70bb.

Villain opens 2.5x from cuttoff, I flat from button with JJAK off suit. BB calls.

Flop: 9s-10h-3c

BB checks, villain bets 3/4 pot, I call. BB folds.

Turn- 4c

Villain checks, hero checks.

River: 2c

Villain bets pot.

Hero??

i probably lean towards a fold on the flop, but i don't think peeling once is horrible since we have gut shot and back doors. folding the river for sure though as we only have a bluff catcher and a bad one at that.

I kind of think you should fold pf. seems nitty, but without a suit there just aren't that many flops where you're going to feel good about it.

Agree with this, especially because we are on the bubble

I'm definitely not folding this pf..that's bananas. Flop is fine, turn good, I probably fold river, you block the types of hands you want him to have. I take it your A isn't a club. Do you have any clubs?

I don't exactly know how ICM works out in PLO tourneys on bubbles like this given I don't play PLO tourneys but I think this is a fine defend preflop. Folding preflop feels bad, like if you're not calling this hand you'd be definitely overfolding and getting exploited by players stealing from late positions but that's from my 100bb+ cash game perspective

In terms of absolute value defense is ok. Its comparable to something like ato in hold em. I think the post-flop playability is relatively poor and that being on the bubble will make us play at least slightly worse. For example, as played I think hero should probably barrel the turn.

Also in 8-game tournament we need to decide how much of our stack we want to risk not being available for other games / getting in race situations. Putting this hand in our flatting range feels a bit weak, we rarely want to play big pots post and we are vulnerable to squeezes from blinds.

Playing pre depend of villain range and tendencies. You could even 3 bet pre.

Fold river. Starting with 60bb, rest of the hand is fine.

How often do you think he bluffs this river?? Any merit on hero calling?
