The way I think about hands is to think about the particular situation (where you should be jamming against this particular villain) then vary it up. Should I jam all flops or are there flops I shouldn't? Should I jam against all villains or are there player profiles where I shouldn't bet out? How should I play if stacks are significantly deeper? This is how I am prepared to play against a wide variety of players unlike some of my regular opponents who seem lost if they don't get to play against idiots who hate money.
I'm not saying you should check/call. I'm saying that if you never contemplated it at some point, then you're not thinking about poker as fully as you could. If your response amounts to "lol, just call", then you have the intellectual depth of Stephen A. Smith talking about sports, maybe less.
