New PLO player wanting to double check my thought process. Game is 1/2/5, I have about $1200. V1 has roughly 1000 and same for V2.

The game is quite passive preflop, not a lot of raising. I have never seen V1 be an aggressor. I have seen him make some truly awful calls in hi-lo. V2 is a pretty huge calling station. He won't just call it all off with anything and can occasionally fold a weak draw, or a hand that is clearly best on the river, but he does find ways to payoff in some terrible spots.

I limp Ad4dQc6c in ep (is this okay?), several more limps including V1 in mp and V2 completes in the blinds.

Flop comes Ah7d3d, checks to V1 who pots for 25. V2 calls and I call. Turn 6c and it checks to V1 who bets 75. V2 thinks for some time and almost seems unsure of what he wants to do but eventually calls.

I'm interested in thoughts on all streets but particularly the turn. I feel that V1 would be potting with a straight or a set so I think those hands are more unlikely. On the other hand, I don't think there's much he'all call a pot sized check raise with and I don't think he will bet river with worst than A6 two pair as a value bet or a bluff attempt. I think V2 could potentially call a raise with worst, including weaker two pairs, straight draws, flush draws and such.

Thoughts?

call flop and turn again against most reasonable villains.

i'm not sure about pre full ring. the worse my opponents play the more often I would raise pre.

This hand doesn't play particularly well in multi-way pots, 64 without more connecting cards are low value, when hero has the nuts it should be obvious so we realize max value in situations where we hit trips or flush + combo draw

Reverse implied odds with bare 64 straight and 2p can be high

In late position this hand plays much better, even to iso-raise weaker/wider opponents and it will be much easier to evaluate many textures with holdings like 2p after other have acted

Its easy to fall into the trap of limping a lot of hands against weak/passive players with this kind of table dynamic - don't do it - if other players at the table are playing too many hands the best way to punish them is to make them pay more immediately -
in games like this even small pre-flop raises of 2-2.5 opening the action can be very effective, you are not forcing anyone to fold but you will be in the position to make a lot more $$ on good flops and be rewarded for disciplined hand selection - similarly you might routinely raise to 20-30$ after several players limped in front of you (and its not unusual to one or 2 fold to this)

As played turn seems like a call due to likely implied odds from bad opponents - I'd make tight folds here sometimes because we need to account for dead outs

I would prefer folding this preflop, but I suppose if not a lot of pre flop raising than this is ok.? As played, I'm surprised we're not betting this flop ourselves. With V2 checking and only 1 player to act behind us, NFD and gutter to I would bet out and try and take the pot down...as played, gotta call the turn I would think

Thank you all, especially monikrazy for the very detailed hand analysis. I have been struggling with developing a preflop range as a hold em player transitioning to this game. However, I think I have a clearer understanding now.

I called turn. River was a 5s. V2 checks and I led 200 (I felt this size was the best to look bluffs but also not so big that it scares them from calling). V1 quickly folded and V2 tank folded.
