Martini shaken with premium vodka like belvedere or goose. if ur new to them try it first with v little vermouth. Any Vodka that is 5 time distilled is fine with ice alone...the impurities will be gone. Sikku has an extremely clean taste. Ciroq is made from grapes instead of potatoes its decent on the rocks as well.

Obvly if ur drinking cheap 3 time distilled smirnoff type Vodka u need to cut it with whatever u can, real vodka is 5 time distilled, some of the best are hand made with a chef watching over the pot for several hours.

sure, but he can not lose in this situation. the absolute worst case scenario is he loses a bunch of neutral ev flips and gets stiffed on vig. Also, I always thought urubu's agreement was to only pay vig on when he wins.

smirnoff has won almost every blind taste test i have ever seen and grey goose normally does poorly. did it myself with friends who work at a bar and had the same results. never drank goose since.

I hate vodka now, but when I drink it, vodka+energy drink tastes the best but you can't drink them all night. Vodka + soda + cranberry juice really masks its taste if that's what you're going for and vodka 7up or sprite is my favorite vodka drink but still not a huge fan since I just don't like vodka.

yeh I think this. It makes his VIG rates half of what they actually are. Which is fine if that's what you agree beforehand, but have to make it clear before you start flipping with so much money involved.

This is interesting, might try this.

Tbh, I think some people just get branded bottles at tables in the club just to say "look I bought expensive alcohol" rather than give a **** about the taste.

fwiw, I don't really drink vodka + mixer much, but when I do I like vodka + lemonade + ice + wedge of lime squeezed in

Vodka + redbull probably the best tasting, but as stated here, you can't do too many of them. It will **** you up. Orange juice is a pretty standard mixer here, cranberry juice a bit rarer in Finland, but definitely heard of it and had it. Probably not so common here, as we also have cranberry long drink available everywhere, which is usually cheaper. I know of a guy who once drank 80% vodka with milk. Can't imagine how horrible that would be.

Vodka on rocks with like 3 wedges of lime for taste...less liquid

Blahhh can't stand vodka, wee I bought the premium vodka so it really doesn't taste like anything. When I buy a premium whiskey I sure as hell don't want it to have less odor/flavor/color. At least substitute in gin which can have a good flavor to it, and can enhance a cocktail instead of needing to be covered up.

And if you must drink vodka soda water+lime is the correct answer(or redbull if you're looking to get loose)

You know on the East of Heaven we prefer the vodka clean on the rocks, but for all of you West of the Czech Republic I recommend Bloody Marry shots. Vodka, tomato juice, tabasco and worchester in a mixer then put a green olive stuffed with an almond in each shot. It's delicious and it keeps the party going. Just try not to choke to death with the olive

IMO vodka is definitely best when its pure, in shots with some juice chasers. For drinks, there are so many better alcohols - whiskey, gin, rum, whetever

There are some whiskeys so bad I wouldn't want to taste them neat. It's actually very common amongst older drinkers to mix whiskey with water too, especially if you're not adding ice.

I wouldn't call it mixing whiskey with water if you're adding a tiny splash of water into whiskey to "open" the flavor. That's exactly how it should be drank especially if it's cask strenght, isn't it?

If somebody says he is mixing whiskey with water, I'd understand it as having 50%+ of water in the glass, which sounds pretty weird to me.

^this

I've had very good whiskey where the bartender used an eye droplet to literally drop like 2 drops of water in to do this and the difference was eye opening.
